Rundown: [community profile] rpanons is an anonymous community for role-play related topics. This place serves as a forum for game discussions, canon discussions, RP solicitations (ATP, game ads, open memes), and advice. The occasional off topic comment is inevitable, but please keep heated social and political topics to their respective communities. Posting them here will only get them frozen. Subsequent threads made to bypass a freeze will then be deleted.

Rules:

Do not post pornographic or shocking images.
Do not share private entries, plurks, chat logs, etc.
Do not use this community as your social/political/hatespeech soapbox.
Do not be redundant. One page does not need three or more threads on one topic/theme. Your unfunny, forced memes also fall under this rule.
Do not treat this comm like your personal therapist. Threads about nonfictional suicide, self injury, rape, and abuse will be deleted. There are better resources out there for you.
Do not treat this comm like your personal Plurk or Twitter. Off-topic happens, but it should be open for discussion and not just a play-by-play of your life. No one cares.
Shut up about Tumblr. If it's not a discussion about Tumblr RP it will be deleted.

Characters can have more than one arc. But to me it kinda feels like they don't want to give them more real arcs any more since they fear fan backlash after what happened with AJ. ...aand I don't think Yamazaki's team is that good with them in general. (And possiblly because Yamazaki himself feels bit of a fanboy of the series.)

It feels like some vocal fans like the initial character arc and get really pissy if something changes the character afterwards, like what happened with AJ. So characters get stuck in the status quo (Klavier, Pearl, Edgeworth, presumably Maya), get an arc that leads back to the status quo (Apollo) or just somewhat return to the status quo (Phoenix). Or in AAI2 Edgeworth's case get pretty much the same arc again. I'd be fine with some characters staying the same, but no one seems to change at all.

I'd personally love to see how almost 10 years of being the Master have changed Maya, but it's pretty clear they're playing to the "YAY IT'S THE EXACTLY SAME MAYA I KNOW AND LOVE!" crowd, just like they did with all the returning characters in DD.

What I truly loved about AA was the human element and how the characters would grow and change, but I wouldn't trust anyone other than Takumi to actually do it well. Or... even do it in general.
