Rundown: [community profile] rpanons is an anonymous community for role-play related topics. This place serves as a forum for game discussions, canon discussions, RP solicitations (ATP, game ads, open memes), and advice. The occasional off topic comment is inevitable, but please keep heated social and political topics to their respective communities. Posting them here will only get them frozen. Subsequent threads made to bypass a freeze will then be deleted.

Rules:

Do not post pornographic or shocking images.
Do not share private entries, plurks, chat logs, etc.
Do not use this community as your social/political/hatespeech soapbox.
Do not be redundant. One page does not need three or more threads on one topic/theme. Your unfunny, forced memes also fall under this rule.
Do not treat this comm like your personal therapist. Threads about nonfictional suicide, self injury, rape, and abuse will be deleted. There are better resources out there for you.
Do not treat this comm like your personal Plurk or Twitter. Off-topic happens, but it should be open for discussion and not just a play-by-play of your life. No one cares.
Shut up about Tumblr. If it's not a discussion about Tumblr RP it will be deleted.

Okay, I thought Bavan was the more "monster-friendly" city. I'd expect the torch-and-pitchfork mobs in this round's changelog to be in Vandare, not there.

Just feels like it came out of left field is what I'm saying, or did I miss both cities deciding to root for the Bones?

Most people, from what I'm gathering, are guessing it's just a very vocal minority (or even ex-Rotans with a grudge), and that there are just as many Bavanians who would rather say, "well, maybe don't join a mob if you don't want to die?"

It at least gives it a little more depth than the requisite "oh yeah, and also there was some mounting tension that's boiling to a head, forgot to mention that!"

It's not too unbelievable that there are still plenty of monster-haters in a city that big, even if the majority (or at least the mayor) is pro-monster.

Right now, I'm just happy that it looks like the mods listened to some of the things people were saying on SOTG, about wanting a mini-event along with the change log to give oldbies and newbies some extra incentive to interact. Hope it works out.

especially since it's like pulling teeth to get oldbies to tag into change logs nowadays

cuz they're ~bored~

I don't get why people are so pissy about this. Change logs DO get boring after a while. It's the same type of interaction that oldbies have played a ton of times already.

It's not like anyone's sneering at newbies and refusing to tag them altogether because ew new people, they're just bored of this one specific type of log.

I remember a lot of people on the SOTG post critting the mods on the fact that intro and change logs DON'T have to be mini-events, especially if they overwhelm the month's main event (there's currently no event scheduled for March so we can assume that this mini-event is all we get). The fact that each group of newbies needs two logs is enough, making them both mini-events is just overwhelming.

TBH, I could do away with change logs altogether and just let people start incorporating changes into their own logs and event logs as soon as monster types are announced instead of the "everyone starts changing on X day" thing.

personally i prefer this. it's a nice way to avoid the traditional changelog infodumps. can't sit there and listen to someone else explain every aspect of your monster type when you're running for your life, can you?

or hey, bavan's a big place. you don't have to get attacked, even if people are acting like that's the case.

I agree on the infodumps. I get that seasoned monsters are trying to help and ICly my character would appreciate that, but OOCly it kind of ruins the fun.
