Is it wrong to only RP a character so you can get in the "in crowd" of a game, and play with a big name rper with a lot of CR connections, since that's the only way you'll ever get CR in that game?

a while back I was rping with a person that I liked to rp with at first until they started to obsessively tag me no matter what. I told them to chill and they did for a bit, but then did something that I was not okay with and then we fell out and stopped rping all together. It wasn't a burned bridge or anything, because they stopped when I told them enough.

anyway, for some reason I feel like they've been secretly tagging me with another account to still rp with me. I can't exactly tell, and I don't want to alienate someone who might actually be another person.

years back another player and i sort of heavily played with the idea- lots of UST but nothing confirmed. it was fun, but the RP culture was waaaaay different back then, and i don't think we'd be able to get away with it now.

I think it depends on the canon and the age of the characters tbh.

If it was underage stuff (like, under 14/15) then I'd be kind of horrified. But I'd be horrified if it wasn't incest either (unless it was an age-appropriate romance).

Like, I'd be kind of disgusted by Dipper/Mabel, but I'd be fine with Fred/George Weasley. So yeah, depends on the canon, depends on the relationship.

I am so spoiled right now....just started an excellent AU psl tonight with a friend for our rarepair crosscanon ship from a game we were both in ages ago. Aside from that I have...two, three psls going following the same 1-2 sets of characters, some OCs, some comics-related? I'm in love with all my psls and ships and everything.

One of my games is dying. There's no real other way to look at it. There's been a lot of drops and activity has slowed way down. I don't know if it'll be swift or if it's going to linger for months and months. Any advice on how to keep the RPing mojo going for a game when you know it's not going to last no matter what you do?

I want to look for another PSL partner for my pairing, but I'd feel a little awkward putting an ad up since we're still tagging, albeit slowly and kind of grudgingly. It feels more like we're just tagging so neither of us have to take the blame for dropping.

and before I get 'its not rare at all you tit' it kind of is. we have at most 20 fics on ao3.

I'm in the same position. I've had a few partners and psls for the pairing that have all kind of petered out and in some cases I'm the one who was the official dropper... but I'm still thirsty af for the ship and I want to look for more people. Bonus that it's a pretty unpopular ship :(

People who require multiple follow ups for a simple yes or no. Why is it the people who always talk about open and honest they are tend to be the complete opposite? I'm not going to roast you alive for saying 'no I don't think my character would do that'

Wasn't sure where to post this, but any help or ideas on how to outline the writing of a personality section? I have so much to write but I can't think of any structure.

Try and summarize each point you would like to touch on to a sentence each. If the ideas can be condensed to a few per sentence, even better. I use that to try and outline where in the section each point should go, and then expand on them individually. I find it easier to cut out the excess after the fact, so just remember to edit the crap out of everything and don't be afraid to scrap sections that aren't working.

Isn't it so much easier to tell someone you don't want to do a thread so they'll drop the topic? I'm pretty sure it's more anxiety inducing to continually put it off and swear you'll tag, then finally shit out a lackluster one that took you hours of unhappiness to write.

There's this person in my game who told me I was trying too hard OOC and I apologised and promised to back off on plurk, which I have done. I haven't really talked to them much OOC and haven't really had many threads since then. I'm not mad or anything, I respect that they need space and not everyone's personalities gel, but I kind of miss the banter and joking we had before and wish we could have it again.

So how do you guys stop dwelling needlessly on stuff like this? I'm not looking to change things, because they're a cool person and bugging them when I said I wouldn't would be disrespectful, I'm just looking for advice on how to stop thinking about it.

Best way to do it is to go for distracting yourself. Pursue CR with other characters in game, talk to people who are more receptive to your ooc communication style, unfollow them on plurk if you get sad when you see their username, etc.

Basically, give yourself some space, and you'll find it's easier and easier to think about other stuff and not be hurt by their desire to step back.

How many times do you "remind" someone about a thread? Assuming they do tag when reminded, but not (or not as often) when they aren't reminded. I'm hitting number 3 in the same amount of comments and wondering if it's maybe time to take the hint and let it die.
