has anyone ever played out an incest ship in a game? where? if you did, how did it go?

years back another player and i sort of heavily played with the idea- lots of UST but nothing confirmed. it was fun, but the RP culture was waaaaay different back then, and i don't think we'd be able to get away with it now.

I think it depends on the canon and the age of the characters tbh.

If it was underage stuff (like, under 14/15) then I'd be kind of horrified. But I'd be horrified if it wasn't incest either (unless it was an age-appropriate romance).

Like, I'd be kind of disgusted by Dipper/Mabel, but I'd be fine with Fred/George Weasley. So yeah, depends on the canon, depends on the relationship.

I had some angelcest going on in the ooc funtimes meme area of a game a few years back that no one seemed to balk at.

as long as it's canon people won't mind, but if it isn't, they probably will

pretty much, which is kind of dumb when they'll gloss over one instance of incest in a canon (cersei/jaime), but they'll shit bricks over sansa/robb or jon. even weirder when they push for other incest ships that aren't canon (arya/jon, dany/viserys, **SPOILER** dany/jon)

dany/jon is just speculation

pretty apt speculation, if you ask me. and doesn't negate the other instances.

well it's kind of rude to castmates to pull a non canon incest ship

if i app in arya and she finds out sansa and robb are boning, that is going to really affect the way i play her

tbh i feel like this could apply to too many decisions in rp to be entirely reasonable

like, if one of my canonmates ends up killing somebody or gets brutally murdered or hooks up with someone who's terrible for them or is brainwashed or whatever, it'd affect the way i play too. that said it's certainly polite to be upfront with castmates and open to negative ic responses / keep it easy for any fellow players who have an issue with it to avoid the topic

basically the same way you'd treat a rape plot, i'd say. you have to be sensitive about it.

are you seriously implying consensual incest is possible? 99 percent of the time, it isn't.

fantasies of consensual incest can be upsetting to people who have experience with irl incest, because irl incest is almost always sexual abuse.

in the same way, fantasies involving rape can be upsetting to people who have been raped.

so yes, in both cases, it's important to be sensitive with the plot and make lots of space for people who don't want that kind of theme in their rp to stay clear, in order to avoid further harming anyone. if someone's cool with the plot they can engage; if they have problems with it, they may really need that space.

This would be the biggest problem with a non-canon incest ship in a game. It would be hard for close castmates to ignore and they generally didn't sign up for that shit.
