Rundown:
rpanons is an anonymous community for role-play related topics. This place serves as a forum for game discussions, canon discussions, RP solicitations (ATP, game ads, open memes), and advice. The occasional off topic comment is inevitable, but please keep heated social and political topics to their respective communities. Posting them here will only get them frozen. Subsequent threads made to bypass a freeze will then be deleted.

(Anonymous) 2015-07-25 05:16 am (UTC)(link)You also generally weren't allowed to backtag a night too far if your time ran out, so if you didn't get to wherever you were aiming to go at the end of the three weeks, your character just blacked out and woke up in their room again.
As a result, you really, really wanted to team up with someone with a similar tagging schedule, because otherwise the one-to-two tags per day would get you maybe three rooms away from the dormitories before the time was up.

loved that game. it was really different but the mods made it work and the players overall were awesome.

it was different, it was interesting, and it was fun most of the time, but damn were there problems. that's any game, tho

(Anonymous) 2015-07-26 12:06 pm (UTC)(link)ultimately, due to player demand, we ended up where one 24 hour cycle took, like...5 weeks.
people hoped longer cycles would leave more time to do stuff, but i think it just perpetuated the problem because players got lulled into a false sense of "oh we have plenty of time until shift ends", and still didn't get anything done.
AC was really lax too, all you had to do was post once every 10 days, and you were good to go. mods tried to make stricter AC rules since some people were getting frustrated with slow threadmates, but players voted it down.
so yeah, the structure wasn't perfect by any means, and I don't think such a linear structure would work well for today's dwrp climate. But it ran a long time because it was so well-loved by the players and the mods were very fair and (for the most part) reliable.
