The occasional off topic comment is inevitable, but please keep heated social and political topics to their respective communities. Posting them here will only get them frozen. my psychiatrist told me that the clothes i was wearing made me look like an ugly boy and that i was lying about taking my medication. she also didn't just say i needed to lose weight (which i was really proud of losing 15lbs the month prior healthily with lifestyle changes!) but that i was "really fat".

she was a huge part of my problems for a long time and part of why i hated myself and only saw myself negatively. i eventually changed to another one and i felt a lot better about myself.

when it comes to physical wellness, around the same time a doctor told me if i wanted to "stop being fat" that i should just eat a few crackers before bed and drink only water- after i told her i didn't eat at night and she didn't believe me. also when i was a teen the sex ed teacher had literally told the girls "don't whore around".

i guess what i've learned from this thread is that all sorts of doctors all over are assholes.

doctors pretty much think everyone's lying to them. i'm overweight, but i don't really eat that much. i'm very sedentary. my doctor brought up that i needed to start eating healthy and i told them what i ate a day. they basically just ignored me and said that i needed to stop eating fast food. i explained i didn't eat fast food since i couldn't afford it. they then said that 'subway counts as fast food'. i had to repeat, slowly and angrily, that "i can't afford to eat out. i cook at home. this is what i eat."

they pretty much just wrote me off after that. doctors can be assholes.
