You're all idiots except for me

Rundown: [community profile] rpanons is an anonymous community for role-play related topics. This place serves as a forum for game discussions, canon discussions, RP solicitations (ATP, game ads, open memes), and advice. The occasional off topic comment is inevitable, but please keep heated social and political topics to their respective communities. Posting them here will only get them frozen. Subsequent threads made to bypass a freeze will then be deleted.

Rules:

Do not post pornographic or shocking images.
Do not share private entries, plurks, chat logs, etc.
Do not use this community as your social/political/hatespeech soapbox.
Do not be redundant. One page does not need three or more threads on one topic/theme.
Do not treat this comm like your personal Plurk or Twitter. Off-topic happens, but it should be open for discussion and not just a play-by-play of your life. No one cares.

People who are consistently waiting until the last minute for AC are typically the flakes and squatters because they are trying to dredge up enough activity before they post.

Do you really think someone should be able to pass AC by making a half assed post on the very last day and then never replying back to it when they were inactive for the rest of the month? The game I'm in had someone pull that last month. And there was also someone who had a strike who conveniently posted a hiatus right before AC went up and got to pass on it when they may well have been booted.

Yes, AC rules need to be more strict in games, mostly in a way where a mod can indeed boot someone who technically passes, but is obviously squatting. Truly, the ideal would be to be able to have an active game with no AC because players can be trusted to actually be active and want to play, but thanks to flakes and squatters, that won't ever happen outside of a small invite-only game.

they have a point system. you can't last day post for something like that and make ac unless you already have some ac for that month. and you can't be LATE with ac unless they are specifically referring to posting their ac proof on the last day of the ac cycle.

which is nitpicky as fuck and you don't have the right to police someone on that.

it's like mods that bitch that people put apps in on the last day of app week. if you don't want apps open that long, don't keep them open that long. if you don't want people thrown up their ac that far after the first day, shorten the length of ac time. that date is still available as a time to do it. maybe they just want to make sure they have it. maybe that's the only consistent day they have off to do it. as long as they get it in within the timeframe, picking on how often they get it in on when is pretty pedantic. i could see concern if all their ac activity was within that last week, but if it's just a matter of them posting it on the last day? fuck that.

this isn't a real game idea or a real ac. it's a vague run-around of what i'd like and probably in no way would ever be implemented in a game. i also would never mod because i can't deal with people who technically wrote a decent app but i know are shitty (like mike) diplomatically or people who app constantly though are rejected every round. i would also be really stringent on people who are asked for revisions and try to figure out a way to deal with people who have had revisions for every application they've put in (i think if every app you've had asks for revisions there's something wrong with it intrinsically and you're probably one of those writers that gives bare minimum).

if you don't like this imaginary, unformed ac in this nonexistent game then you're welcome to not app to it? since in this imaginary game it would have more strict imaginary app requirements too. i can ramble about them so you can tell me you hate them and wouldn't app and there would be imaginary wank for that too?

it's not something i meant to take over the rest of it but when i got to rambling about what i'd like, that's what i'd like. i'd be happy with whatever direction an action and exploration game that isn't heavy sci-fi and horror would go, whether it have a lot of violence or end up being lighthearted, or even with the option for both. if it's more high fantasy or modern, though i think i'd love for something like that ot start on cluster of islands and slowly expand into an entire world through hunters guilds or something like that. and i do love airships.

how is that any different from the people who make half-assed posts in the first week of the ac period and then are inactive for the rest of the month?
