I don't mind when people on memes are like "castmates would be awesome!" bc obviously you wanna play with people from cast and you might not know anyone and finding someone would be great but when you post to memes and say castmates only or only people who have tagged you before or whatever like... why not just do a psl?

Looking at MCU mostly for this tbh.

because maybe they're looking for new rp partners? mcu especially is full of flakes, so sure, you can get one bucky to tag with, but then they flake off and you want to play with someone else from your cast.

point is, anon, i'd rather someone list their preferences than not. and whining that they're not being 'fair and open enough' is kind of a dick move on your part. (putting words in your mouth, yes, but that's essentially what your comment boils down to. 'why aren't they open so i/anyone else can tag them?')

I wasn't meaning that they owed me or anyone not in their cast a thread I just don't think it's a good idea to do on memes, which are supposed to be casual and pretty ota. When memes are slim pickings as is these days it's kind of shitty to see posts like that is all, especially when it comes to strict gen memes. I get why you might only want characters yours knows for smut or serious stuff but if you're completely opposed to having a random going on a picnic or playing carnival games with yours then idk... seems cloistered af.

when general expectations are on par with games, social culture included, there's no point in playing in them

i know the meme troll of wg was likely just that, a troll, but they voiced a lot of things that i'm pretty sure some people actually feel in terms of 'stay out of my memes if you have games/this is all i have/you people piss on everything'. memes have always been low priority, low pressure, and supposedly fun. if you want something more, you take it to a psl to carry it on. or you join a game.

or you play wherever the fuck you want as long as you're not breaking comm rules, and people mind their own fucking business about who's playing with whom.

memes aren't supposed to be anything, op. it's not the fault of someone that wants to play something more limited that bakerstreet is slim pickings. memes are public domain. unless someone is playing something truly trigger-causing, there's no reason to take it to a psl other than preference and privacy. and that still doesn't negate them possibly looking for new psl partners with castmates. feels kind of like you're shitting on their preferences because they don't match up with yours. there's people policing gender preferences as well lately and it's getting dumb. memes can be open, yes, and they usually are for the most part, but if one or five people posting limited preferences cause you stress and makes you feel like they're somehow abusing an open play system... i don't know what to tell you, man. you need to just scroll past and find someone else to tag.

nope. i can happily say i've never played against or as an mcuer. i'm just noticing that (likely because of the slim pickings op mentions below), people are getting way more entitled about what they feel people should post on memes. they're still open domain and if someone wants to post a locked meme to a single person only or to their cast or w/e, they should be allowed to do it without someone running to an anon comm to complain about it.

not everyone has museboxes or psls or even wants them if they don't play that often. maybe this is a one off for them or they have an au idea or they're trawling for new partners. op sounds like (and i could be wrong, willing to admit that) that they're upset that this particular character isn't more available for tags. why be upset unless you want to tag them?

That's why I do it tbh

because i'm in a small fandom and people have preferences in terms of castmates vs. cross-canon. plus like the other anon said, there are so many flakes around that if you've threaded with reliable people before then of course you want to stick to them. people talk about memes as low key rping but a lot of people seem to take that as 'tag three times and drop' which is annoying.

tbh sometimes it's just to filter out specific unwanted players when you're working up to telling them you're not interested in tagging with them anymore
