Posted this on the dead end of last post so here it goes again: Can players and former players give a honest account of what percentage of the game is Boring People Talking? I read some of the plot posts/logs, and all of the characters in it were so dry it was like a parody of Regency-era fiction. I want to know if that's what the game is normally like or if it's just the parts with NPCs.

I'm not sure what you mean by this, anon? If you're talking about the latest plot post with Honey, that was just poorly written imo, but most of the NPCs/mods are well-written, and there's plenty of action happening.

I mean the ones that have comments to them, not a read-only post like that. I was going through the posts that contain the large plot developments like the Optimus Prime death (admittedly they're old by now). I don't really mean literal action vs. talking, it was just jarring to see several characters with the same voice and opinions ("may I do this thing?" "you may" "Thank you" "Sips lemonade").

dunno what you want us to say, anon. i think a pretty small percentage of my threads are boring, whether they're npcs or player characters. i've always been pleasantly surprised about how few small talk threads i have

but ymmv obviously. and if you've already made up your mind about it (which it kind of sounds like you have tbh) there isn't much we can do to convince you otherwise beyond linking "interesting" threads, which no one in their right mind is going to do.

Ok, getting some positivity up in here! Who are your faves, especially newbies?

I really like Dio, Luciola, Shuyi, 616!Cap and Vegeta. Our Vegeta especially is really great, they get his grumpiness down pat.

also stalking information for this, i'm wondering if it'll be released with the next calendar. it should(?) be in a month or 2 anyway with the tdm in the middle if it follows the regular pattern. no idea if a team switch up will push it back though.

from a plotting/writing perspective i kinda wish that they'd made honey a little more subtle so there would be some actual moral quandary/emotional quandary with regards to how the crew feels about her replacing dagger.

as it is the characters really have no reason to trust her and she's been set up as designated villain since her introduction.

not really something terrible or game breaking, just that i wish it was more grey, less black and white.

i'm undecided on honey's story tbh. we don't know much of anything, and i'm assuming she comes off arrogant and bold for a reason.

she wants to get to the top, but is it purely self-interest or just a selfish journey to get the ship for the same reason gliese has the ship??? maybe honey wants revenge too and her personality just happens to be brash and ugly.

unless the mods do make her the generic villain type, i'm going to assume for now that there's more to her reasonings for ship-take over than just "ha ha i want this toy it is mine thanks"

I'm actually glad that people don't trust her. It's in complete contrast to the other instructors, and now they're openly viewing a self-motivated person without having anything nice about her to cloud that perception. Deep down the instructors are all pretty awful, but people have built more positive relationships and some can look past it.
