anyone still go here?

i'm like a hundred chapters behind, but I still check spoilers for each chapter because i want to know what is going on with my favorite characters. and the war arc in general.

ugh, aizen. i knew would be back but god, it still sucks. i never could stand that smug fuck.

i wouldn't have minded him coming back NEARLY as much if he didn't pull his dumb LOLTROLLU shit like withing FIVE SECONDS OF BEING REINTRODUCED.

that whole "oh you still have two keys tho right???" shit and breaking his bindings so easily?? why didn't he just break them right off the bat?

don't even get me started on his exploding kidou crap, either

Sometimes I imagine apping a character from way, waaaaaaaay back (like, Rukia during the Soul Society arc or something) but I know it wouldn't be as fun in reality.

it'd only be fun if there were more bleach rpers in general to bounce off of, imo

i imagine playing soul society-arc rukia would just kind of be boring by herself

aw thanks anon. but honestly it would probably be less fun than I imagine because castmates would probably be from much closer to current canon and that'd be a whole lot of SAY WHAT NOW. Just totally different perspectives.

It's probably a moot point because I'm not sure I could play her well again anyway.

I left Bleach just after the Soul Society arc but I always wanted to play Hanataro. I have no idea if / how much he turns up after that, and if so, does it had to his characterization, though.

I'm still waiting on Kira to come back.

i'm sure he's not DEAD but he's def out of commission until someone can heal him up

so can anyone explain what has been going on during this arc? i stopped paying attention about 60 chapters ago, and trying to figure it all out again is just confusing me

there's... a lot... to go over...

basically tl;dr: masaki was a quincy so ichigo has quincy blood in him, ywahchchdhsdg or whatever is actually zangetsu (the old man one, not the little shota boy/hollow), ichigo's hollow (his name is white, how creative) was actually protecting ichigo from ywahchgjffk's infiltration of his zanpakutou (?????) something about the soul king being yuwahghsdg's father (not sure if it's metaphorical or literal at this point), he wants to destroy reality entirely for some reason (if the soul king dies, reality as we know it falls apart because he's basically the tether to the living realm, spirit realm, precipice realm and hueco mundo), ishida is currently helping ywhachhghgksd for unknown reasons (so far it seems to be BECAUSE QUINCY SOLIDARITY/HE'S OUR KING!! though it's debatable that ishida is actually playing the sides), soul society got its ass plowed by quincy soldiers, mayuri brought back luppi, cirucci, charlotte and dorudoni and they fight the quincies and shit, one of the quincy has an ability to turn people into zombies so a good chunk of the shinigami became zombies, yuwahghsvnc blew some shit up, ichigo accidentally the soul king, shit started falling apart, earthquakes were wrecking the living realm, shunsui goes "welp looks like i've got no other option" and goes down into the wine cellar to let aizen out, aizen goes LOL I TROLL U a few times, gets hoisted upstairs in his bondage chair, tries to blow shit up in retaliation but fails (and makes the most hilarious I DONE GOOFED face i've ever seen), more quincy show up and decide they want to help the shinigami and there you go you're caught up

aw, you forgot to mention ukitake's made a deal with the soul kings arm god or something to stay alive and is now giving it up and is probably dead. i dunno, i sort of zoned out because ukitake is one if my fave characters and i am bitter.

there's also the part where yuwhawhatever can steal powers from quincies whenever he likes so that's why ichigo's mom is dead and the last quincy dudes mentioned saw that happen to their buds or something and were like okay yeah let's kill him

I wish Kubo Tite was a better writer. All that potential in Bleach was wasted/

i like to think the main thing at fault here is the fact that he's in a weekly publication and that can skew how a story is written, depending on the author. some mangaka (like one piece guy) can balance the weekly formula with a story that remains cohesive (or at least it was when i used to read it, not sure about now). meanwhile, kubo wants to fit SO MUCH into a measly 15-20 pages that it comes out a garbled mess. some shit is expanded upon, other shit that sounds interesting is pushed back in favor of FIGHT SCENES and ACTION because it's a shounen title and that's what the publisher wants. i'm aware that shit is likely written up/inked in advance, but again, if the publisher expects something from the writer, that's what's getting put in. they save the extra stuff for character books/encyclopedias.

i like to think that if bleach was a monthly publication, we would have gotten something much, much different. and that's a shame, cos i agree, there's so much potential that was wasted. :(

The fact that Kubo creates new characters whenever he has writers block contributes to the messiness. It's one thing if he can handle a huge cast (which Oda can do, or at least do better compare to him) but judging from the messiness, he obviously can't.

the weekly chapters (certainly lately) are definitely lacking, but when you get them together in the tankobon they actually flows a lot better and the pacing seems to make sense. i can't help but feel, as it's winding down, that it'd work better in monthly instalments where kubo could cram in what he needs to and trim the fat

that being said if he'd left aizen out things would move on a lot faster without everyone having to sit around listen to him monologuing like the boring shit that he is
