Those suggestions sucked

Rundown: [community profile] rpanons is an anonymous community for role-play related topics. This place serves as a forum for game discussions, canon discussions, RP solicitations (ATP, game ads, open memes), and advice. The occasional off topic comment is inevitable, but please keep heated social and political topics to their respective communities. Posting them here will only get them frozen. Subsequent threads made to bypass a freeze will then be deleted.

Rules:

Do not post pornographic or shocking images.
Do not share private entries, plurks, chat logs, etc.
Do not use this community as your social/political/hatespeech soapbox.
Do not be redundant. One page does not need three or more threads on one topic/theme.
Do not treat this comm like your personal Plurk or Twitter. Off-topic happens, but it should be open for discussion and not just a play-by-play of your life. No one cares.

i've seen people pick up shit from dogs that were not theirs, but those people didn't own a dog in the first place so i can see why dog shit in their yard would offend them. yeah, sure, some people have kids. maybe some of those people pick up dog shit so their kids don't run through it. but it's not a common thing. maybe where you live, but i would put money on it not being common across the country

and defnitely not in this area. no one in my family who has dogs picks up their shit in their own yard. none of my dog-owning friends or coworkers do it in their own yard. in the 8 houses that immediately surround mine, 5 of those have at least one dog. 3 have children. none of them pick up shit in the yard

maybe it's different in canada, i don't know. in every part of the province that i've been in, city, rural, suburban, everyone picks up their dog shit. everywhere. the only exception to this that i know of are farm dogs/huge properties where dogs go off and shit in the woods. any sort of home-type area with lawns, particularly ones with kids, people are quick to either pick it up or charge their kids with doing it every day or two. my cousin used to pay her older son to clear the yard of dog crap every week if it had crapped in the yard instead of out on a walk so that the younger kids didn't get into it.

i'm in america and i've never seen it actually happen irl. i can imagine it happening in nice ass homeowner's association suburbs, or where you have a tiny yard or a shared outdoor space that you use with other people, and i can understand why someone would want to do it if they have children, but i've never ever seen someone do it in their own yard. they'll pick it up on walks because letting your dog shit in a stranger's yard or on the sidewalk is considered rude (so op's guy is pretty fucking weird there for letting it shit on the sidewalk for sure), but that's it

i don't know what to say, anon. the only people i've seen not do it are lazy fucking dumbfucks that leave their dogs on a leash chained around a post/tree and never let them inside and who have shit and debris and garbage all over their lawn. trailer park trash. and that was when i was down in the states visiting someone whose neighbor did that.

lmao i can tell you that most people who do it definitely are not trailer trash. i don't live in the richest neighborhood but it's safe and cute and clean and cozy. there's not an emaciated pitbull on a chain or a bare yard full of car parts and beer bottles in sight. these are just normal people with normal looking pets who let them shit in their yards

You sound like you're either exaggerating or you have lived in some of the grossest neighborhoods ever to exist.

Coming from an Americanon who has lived in lower-middle-class areas their whole life and only seen yards of dog shit around grody houses that clearly the owners don't care about.

if you can actually see piles of shit in the yard then there are some serious issues going on. generally you can't see piles of shit sitting in peoples' yards unless you're 1) actually walking through it, or 2) they're running a puppy mill or something
