and to address your suspicions above, no i don't play from this canon, and this thread is exactly the reason why. i've never seen a game so completely stigmatized in this community before, to the point where if you even mention that you like it or try to defend it, it just spirals out into name-calling and trolling about bisexual theories or whatever. idk how the people who rp from this game do it. i'd never stick my neck out like that.

like yeah maybe it was a troll but idk. i just get so tired of seeing this crap in this community. this game isn't hated so fiercely anywhere else that i've seen. even people in IGN comments can celebrate it and be civil about it if they don't. but not rpanons or wankgate.

there's just no reason for people to be this fucking mad and rude about this game, to the point where you can't even mention the title without someone jumping down your throat over how "bad" it is. i just get frustrated about it. it's pretty much the dwrp equivalent of saying the name candlejack.

once more, i'm pretty sure the hate stems from the couple of anons who continually go into the TEW threads and argue so hatefully about it. it's like, if in the game threads, game anons (or trolls) respond to trolling comments, the game develops a reputation for being defensive and full of tittybabies. that's what happened here and this thread isn't doing a thing to disprove it.

at this point i'm sure anons are intentionally calling the game shit because they've gotten annoyed at the elitist TEW fans that exist(ed). so. again, this is a fault of the fans themselves.

there haven't been canon threads for TEW since about a month after the game came out, so there is no "continually go into TEW threads" because those threads don't exist. it really pisses me off to think that one anon who got all pissy over some stupid headcanon spoiled it for everyone, because those threads were just fine until the entirety of the rpanons community decided to jump in and troll them.

i just. idk. if that original anon who responded to me was a troll, then i fell for it. i fell real hard. but it doesn't negate the fact that the people who dislike the game are far more vicious and aggressive than the people who like it. the game's been out for six months already. i feel like anyone who's jumping in just to troll for lulz should've gotten bored or tired of it by now. but i guess not.

i hate the game and think it's horseshit and so do my friends, but all of us would gladly enjoy playing off of basically anyone so long as there is care and self-awareness put into how they're played instead of this tumblrina bullshit spread around every conversation. i honestly can't imagine anyone other than sebastian or ruvik REALLY being playable but i'd be happy to tag around with anyone even though the second i hear someone call it survival horror my eyes roll so far back in my head the rest of my body absorbs them.

i gave it a fair try. i didn't read any reviews about it before i went in. no one i know played it at that point. i was a blank slate. i LOVE horror, and i will latch on to horror games. i rarely, RARELY dislike a game. i didn't like this one at all. it was a chore

if it's stigmatized by an entire community, then that's probably for a reason...
