i like it a lot because it's really interesting engaging work but the hours are ridiculous and i'm always on like three projects at once. this winter i went like 60 days without any time off

in the summers i do concerts and events for the parks department which is nice because it's like stage management except on a normal person schedule

it isn't that i think you're stupid or didn't get it. i just think you didn't bother to try.

and to address your suspicions above, no i don't play from this canon, and this thread is exactly the reason why. i've never seen a game so completely stigmatized in this community before, to the point where if you even mention that you like it or try to defend it, it just spirals out into name-calling and trolling about bisexual theories or whatever. idk how the people who rp from this game do it. i'd never stick my neck out like that.

i like a lot of shitty games and i will readily admit to them being shit. but these TEW stans are 100% frothing about their game and how it's perfect, which would be less obnoxious if they didn't insult the intelligence of everyone who had issues with it. in fact, i wouldn't have even been compelled to reply to this thread if the anon didn't act so "superior" for liking it and catching some deep plotline that everyone else apparently missed.

Before anyone asks, no, I'm not famous, and I'm not anyone who would be well-known by the general public as opposed to people who specifically follow romance novels. And no, I've never seen anyone in dwrp play any of my characters.

i gave it a fair try. i didn't read any reviews about it before i went in. no one i know played it at that point. i was a blank slate. i LOVE horror, and i will latch on to horror games. i rarely, RARELY dislike a game. i didn't like this one at all. it was a chore

if it's stigmatized by an entire community, then that's probably for a reason...

I've got two jobs.

For one job I work with the disabled, going out to their houses and help them take care of daily business and get out in the community. Not like, washing them or making meals for them or anything, most of my people aren't that badly off, but making sure they can actually have lives. Just as an example, I take one person bowling every week.

It's really pretty great! One of my clients is boring as all get out but other than that I really enjoy it and I'm trying to get more hours.

My other job is retail. It's significantly the less rewarding of the two, but until I get at least thirty hours a week at the first job I have to keep it.

Operations/billing and a smattering of dispatch for VERY big name disposal company. It's mostly clerical work. I handle the industrial portion of my area location, and almost all the junk for a smaller side project that only runs two or three trucks a day. If that small handful of guys gets into trouble, they call me. I'm the interface between the drivers and their managers, and I help keep everyone organized. I only rarely have to interact with customers so it's awesome. I have an ops manager, but for the most part I report directly to the district manager.

I make pretty good money at it, even if my hours are weird. I work noon to 8:30 at night so I can be there when the drivers come in. I started three years ago, came on as a data entry temp. They ended up buying me out of my contract early so they could keep me.

While I'm not the biggest fan of the actual JOB, I take the time to do it well and I love the people I work with. I have about 80 multicultural dads, 50 grandpas, a smattering of young dudes who jump at the chance to talk about gaming, and a handful of tough-as-nails women who get shit done.

AND the whole company is LGBTQ friendly, down to the policies. I got lucky.

team lead in a call center. it's not glamorous, but i like it and it pays surprisingly well.

people figuring out that the church was performing fucked up experiments in the pursuit of immortality and eventually cut a deal with mobius in order to feed them parishioners (and in some cases, their own priests) as test subjects because they thought that STEM was the key. just as an example.

people called the whole "leslie is the key to STEM" thing long before the DLC confirmed it and that mobius needed him because they wanted full control of STEM. they also figured out that ruvik had actually worked for mobius before they killed him before the DLC confirmed it.

there's actually a post in that thread that has a pretty good timeline of events in regards to everything leading up to the game, and how sebastian's story weaves into the overarching narrative of mobius, and, by proxy, ruvik.

like there's good shit in there anon. there's a much bigger picture than most people tend to think.

Disabled, but constantly on the lookout for jobs I can feasibly do. I hate being the way that I am, nothing would fulfill me more than having a real job to work for.

i wish it wasn't so stigmatized because i have some friends that play from it (and i do too, sometimes) but they don't want to app into any games because of the insane TEW fans that are in our midst.

would it be too stupid to say in your ooc intro post something like, "hey i'd like to have my character get a easy going first time/would anyone introduce my character to the settingifyouknowwhatimeaan" in an attempt to have random cr and a transition into getting their character geared toward the setting?
