The manga is the best thing to happen to the series tbh. Read it and enjoy, but also look up some of the HD cutscenes. You're good otherwise.

there is no book to help improve your writing. reading books will improve your writing. you can read guides with tips and tools, but it's the same tips you can google, things like "free write without correcting anything".

i think i'm over rp :(

i used to be such a fast tagger, kept up with my games enthusiastically, had great cr going, loved plotting out psls which would go for months, some of which are still going. and now... i still like the idea of rp and there are things i want to write. but when i actually get around to writing the things i want to write now, i feel too burnt out to stick with it and i lose steam almost straight away.

i don't even know when this burnt out feeling really began, either. i think it's slowly been creeping up on me for a while but i managed to push past it, thinking it was just a slump that i would get over. but it's now reached the point where i go blank with writing tags and everything i write seems boring and unengaging and utter shit to me because i don't feel inspired to actually write, even if the idea of rp still hugely appeals to me. i've tried changing up my character roster, tried playing new characters, you name it. and nada.

this is a hobby i like a lot and it feels shitty and frustrating that i'm so burnt out by it.

I'm already a big reader, and guides with tips and tools are sort of what I'm looking for (kind of along the lines of The Elements of Style I think?).

I guess better writer isn't quite what I meant. It's not really like I want to get really super great at drafting fiction. I just want my written communication to be more clear and effective.

guys it's one 11 minute episode of a fucking cartoon. they are both cartoons. generally targeted at kids. kids who probably really like both shows.

pretty sure you're gonna be okay dudes. the show's mystical cartoon integrity isn't tragically compromised.

because for the self-help books it really depends on you and your method of learning. either way the best way to improve is practice. again and again and again, even if you don't feel like it.

if you're looking for more quickwitted shows like unbreakable and 30 rock, i recommend archer. it's animated but has a similar pace and tightness wrt jokes and everyone calls archer out aaaaall the time

i had another recommendation but i forgot what it was. well if it comes to me, you'll be the first to know. comedies headed by former snl writers tend to be pretty reliably funny. parks & rec's characters are much more dynamic (though hard to swallow at first, and it depends how much tom you can take) and brooklyn nine-nine has yet to fall off its stride.

More 'writing 101' type books, I'm already a pretty big reader of fiction, though I'm looking more to make my writing more clear/effective/engaging for work and communication purposes, not necessarily wanting to become the world's most creative RPer or fiction author. I write a substantial amount at my new job, and I definitely feel that alone has really helped, but I'm always looking to do better.
