you know, as much as I like Hinata and all it feels a bit weird to start learning about his backstory in 1st beat. shouldn't that be saved for his actual route?

I have a question for those of you that have read the manga adaptations!

I want to start canon reviewing but I barely got through Days in the first place and outright refuse to play it again. Would the manga adaptation serve as a sufficient refresher, or are there too many things they leave out, miss, or otherwise change? I'd prefer to skip Chain of Memories as well but Days is the only one I don't even want to think about.

That's fair enough. I was assuming most people reading this would be in their 20s or maybe their early 30s so that's kind of who I had in mind when I wrote that. But yeah. That's also why I said a ten year age could be sketchy, depending on the circumstances; a ten year difference between a 45 year old and a 55 year old is totally fine. A ten year difference between an 18 year old and a 28 year old has massive creepiness potential.

I do think it's hard to quantify because some of it does depend on the individuals involved and other circumstances (past relationships, overall sexual experience/relationship experience, if one is the other's teacher or boss, personality types, who has money, etc.). Like I said in another comment, I was involved in a 7-year age difference relationship when I was 19 and that turned out more or less fine. But I can also see a relationship like that going really, really badly with two different people.

I've never read the manga, but the HD re-release had all the Days cutscenes and some summaries for in-game events that weren't animated. It might be the fastest version of canon reviewing.

I don't think this is creepy. I've never changed my identity in RP but I have always kept my fandom life and real life separate and I use a different handle in my fandom circles than I do in my non-fandom internet circles. I always figured this was pretty common and it didn't even occur to me that people would view it the same way as repeatedly changing your identity within the same community.

As someone on the other side of the divide, you're exactly the sort of medium snob I like.

i've been thinking about getting katamari forever, but i've never played a katamari game! would it be a good one to start with?

What’s in the Updated Version?

A lil’ bonus scene for Brad, as well as minor edits, typo and bug fixes. Most of your old saves should work with the game.* (Unless they occur right around the new scene.)

*NOTE: I forgot to mention this is only true if you have any versions that contain the gallery. If you have a pre-gallery version of the game, your old saves won’t work. (You can use TAB and change your SKIP settings to speed through scenes. Apologies for the inconvenience!)

The new version was released late last night. If the game window says 1.2.2 at the top, you already have it. Otherwise you don’t.
How Do I Get The New Version?

BMT sent you an email when you purchased the game. Use that email again to download the new version. Once you’ve downloaded it, you can unzip the new file and copy the resulting folder right over your old game.
How Do I Unlock the New Bonus Scene?

It occurs at the end of Brad’s route. For details, you can go here.

FYI, old saves may not work if they occur in the middle of that sequence. Remember, you can always use TAB and configure your SKIP options to speed through previously-read portions of your game.

That was gonna be my next choice! I'd prefer to go with the manga if it's viable, though. I'm not really invested in the characters so the ease of setting aside and picking up the manga as my attention wanes and waxes really appeals.

i'm actually worried about making them too sweet! or too soft i guess? if that makes sense

the character in question is pretty feisty and energetic and i worry i'm not playing that up enough because i'm too busy making them sweet

yeah tbh i don't disagree with the whole ~strong female character~ thing but

there are soooo many supposedly "badass" male characters who basically have no personality beyond "cool renegade who beats up people" because they're meant to be a self-insert vehicle for the reader/viewer

they're basically just bella swan for grown men who like action movies instead of teenage girls who like vampires

Goku! He's so nice all the time but also really demanding. You get an A and he tells you that you can do so much better.

Sometimes it's just harder to reply to one tag than the other. Doesn't mean they don't like the thread.

I get you! From what I remember, you could also pause and just skip to the next cutscene in the game, and I imagine it would be the same if you just watched it on Youtube. Either option will probably be about the same length, honestly. I only watched Days to get the achievement, and it took about three hours tops. The manga looks like it's five volumes, so you might be able to shave a half-hour off.

Keep in mind that, while the manga is beginning to take itself seriously, a lot of it is comedic and things happen in it like Xaldin getting killed by a Vexen clone.

That and intelligence shows in more ways than just the ability to spell and type.
