Rundown: [community profile] rpanons is an anonymous community for role-play related topics. This place serves as a forum for game discussions, canon discussions, RP solicitations (ATP, game ads, open memes), and advice. The occasional off topic comment is inevitable, but please keep heated social and political topics to their respective communities. Posting them here will only get them frozen. Subsequent threads made to bypass a freeze will then be deleted.

Rules:

Do not post pornographic or shocking images.
Do not share private entries, plurks, chat logs, etc.
Do not use this community as your social/political/hatespeech soapbox.
Do not be redundant. One page does not need three or more threads on one topic/theme.
Do not treat this comm like your personal Plurk or Twitter. Off-topic happens, but it should be open for discussion and not just a play-by-play of your life. No one cares.

Re: F/F AU game?

I'm going to be short with you: go into this expecting it might not work out. People all over Game Ideas will say they want it, a lot of people on plurk will say they want it, and people may want it. But the same thing that happened to all past F/F games since Queen of Hearts will most likely happen here, too, and that's that a combination of not having the help to run it you need will not be there, and a lack of players that will keep things running and not treat it as a secondary, or even tertiary, game will not be present.

And the worst part is most people won't outright admit this--they'll blame the mods, the players, find something that was consistent in the rules between games (like the sexswaps/Rule 63s/trans character rules/etc) to blame that isn't their lack of participation. A lot of interesting, new ideas receive the same treatment. "I'm not going to app until I see it survive," is what lots of people say. Except then only ten people app and the game doesn't survive and people shrug and move on. Or the mod asks for help modding so they can even get it off the ground, they can't get the help they actually need, and are forced to close it.

Basically, don't set your hopes up that this game will take off. Enjoy it while it lasts, if you do go through with it. That's about all you can do.
