Keep in mind that while he sincerely hates bending, he's also a hypocritical asshole.

from what i remember (need to go back and canon review) he and tarlokk both seem to frame themselves as tainted by their father, and outside of the "normal" narrative when they're not speaking from under ~**masks**~ and all that. so i was thinking of maybe amon using that as an internal excuse for using bloodbending to accomplish his ends? but idk how solid that is or not

if you've got any specific thoughts re: amon is a huge hypocritical douche, i'd love to hear them!

I was more thinking in terms of how he uses bloodbending more than Tarrlok (Not just for debending people, but also to throw off his opponents.) And he had zero issue with turning on the lieutenant without much regret when his secret came out.

What canon point are you thinking about taking him from, btw?
