Rundown: [community profile] rpanons is an anonymous community for role-play related topics. This place serves as a forum for game discussions, canon discussions, RP solicitations (ATP, game ads, open memes), and advice. The occasional off topic comment is inevitable, but please keep heated social and political topics to their respective communities. Posting them here will only get them frozen. Subsequent threads made to bypass a freeze will then be deleted.

Rules:

Do not post pornographic or shocking images.
Do not share private entries, plurks, chat logs, etc.
Do not use this community as your social/political/hatespeech soapbox.
Do not be redundant. One page does not need three or more threads on one topic/theme.
Do not treat this comm like your personal Plurk or Twitter. Off-topic happens, but it should be open for discussion and not just a play-by-play of your life. No one cares.

i'd focus on five to ten starter breeds, probably fantasy-based with roots in actual animals so people can easily identify with them and pick favorites (i will go for bunnies every time)

give them all distinct features and colors, give them several different 'pieces' (ex. each starter has a unique eye shape, ear shape, paw shape, etc.) that can be exchanged through crossbreeding

genes will be exchanged by punnet squares, with separate genes for physical features, non-physical features (stats, personlity, favorite foods, etc.), and colors

each pet can be monotone or two-tone, though each original starter is monotone. breeding can occasionally result in two colors blending (ex. red/black turns to darker red, blue/white turns kind of periwinkle-y), which would be handled by hex values to avoid limiting possibilities

each breed has a three-stage life cycle they evolve through, and the pieces change slightly with each evolution (ex. bunny ears are super fluffy stage one, more slender and sleek stage two, and super long and willowy stage three). stage one is the baby stage, where stat gains aren't too high, but affect how well stats will grow in the future (ignoring STR in the baby stage means gaining STR in later stages is a pain in the ass). stage two is the adult stage, where breeding becomes possible and pets can compete in battles, races, and other competitions. stage three is the elder stage, where pets can be assigned to mentor pets in the baby or adult stages. they can be bred, but they don't want to, and breeding with an elder decreases the chance of color mutations and stat boosts

stats would also have a modifier value like the chao garden's stat ranking system, though because i'm a little twerp who loves messing with stats, there would be more values than just run/fly/swim/power/stamina. breeding would work much the same w/r/t improving inherited stat grades.

god i have a lot more than just this but this is already getting long as shit

i just have a lot of feelings about pet games okay
