Rundown: [community profile] rpanons is an anonymous community for role-play related topics. This place serves as a forum for game discussions, canon discussions, RP solicitations (ATP, game ads, open memes), and advice. The occasional off topic comment is inevitable, but please keep heated social and political topics to their respective communities. Posting them here will only get them frozen. Subsequent threads made to bypass a freeze will then be deleted.

Rules:

Do not post pornographic or shocking images.
Do not share private entries, plurks, chat logs, etc.
Do not use this community as your social/political/hatespeech soapbox.
Do not be redundant. One page does not need three or more threads on one topic/theme.
Do not treat this comm like your personal Plurk or Twitter. Off-topic happens, but it should be open for discussion and not just a play-by-play of your life. No one cares.

...suddenly de-powered and vulnerable. could i get some tips on dealing with this and how to still make them as scary as they were in canon, please?

they probably won't ever be as scary, especially if most or all of their scariness comes from being nigh-invicible

use this opportunity to take the wind out of their sails instead and humble them a little, unless it's ic for them to keep on keeping on with the melodramatic evil. either way though, they're probably going to get laughed at. and that's half the fun, imo.

body language is key if you want them to still be somewhat menacing. not every douchebag gets awesome godmode powers, but the Death Glare is truly universal, as there's nothing stopping them from creepy threats either. villainy, written well, is about more than just being a stupidly overpowered final boss.

You can't.

Most overpowered, nigh invincible villains are scary largely because of their powers, and they won't plausibly be pants-shittingly terrifying when they can't godmode their way out of any confrontation.

If the character has traits other than their powers (their personality, their cunning, their sadism, whatever) then it's possible to make them a threat.

However, a lot of characters simply don't have these traits.
