You don't need to play all the games, PP, Genki Noire and U are non-canon spin offs.

Re;birth1 is a remake of the first game, the story was rewritten, the sprites got an update and the battle system is an improved copy of V's system. It's still not canon to the "main" canon timeline though, but it's a great entry game to play since personality wise the characters stay the same.

MK2 and Victory are the "main" timeline, though MK2 can be skipped unless you really want to play Nepgear or any of the sister characters. Along with a few maker characters. There's a LP up on youtube that's worth a watch if you don't want to play it. Honestly you can watch the arc in the anime and get by. Victory is mostly standalone because it's a different dimension for most of the game, but it takes place after MK2 and the events are mentioned at the start of the game ect ect.

Personally I find Victory to be the best game out of the series besides Re;birth 1 when it comes to the writing being consistent.

But yeah, if you want to play one of the goddesses take a look at Re;birth1 and Victory. If you want to play IF, Compa or the other maker characters take a look at MK2 and Victory. There's also a bunch of spin off manga that are great, such as Hello New World (in the style of the anime) and Megami Tsuushin (if you want a manga that follows more of the first game character traits)

Oh and if you need icons I have a bunch for almost every character!

So I got lucky when it came to the game that could help me handle the voices the best, huh?

And coincidentally, Neptune is the one who instantly became my quick favorite just because of how huge of a dork she is. I appreciate the icon help too though I'll mostly be shooting for game sprites (portraits? w/e they're called) until I get my paycheck this week.

As for game sprites, no one's been able to rip the sprites because the game data has every part of the sprite in a different image so you'd manually have to piece together everything. So your best bet is to use a HQ lp on youtube and cap it. (I recommend MasterLL's LPs since it's all in HD)
