Rundown: [community profile] rpanons is an anonymous community for role-play related topics. This place serves as a forum for game discussions, canon discussions, RP solicitations (ATP, game ads, open memes), and advice. The occasional off topic comment is inevitable, but please keep heated social and political topics to their respective communities. Posting them here will only get them frozen. Subsequent threads made to bypass a freeze will then be deleted.

Rules:

Do not post pornographic or shocking images.
Do not share private entries, plurks, chat logs, etc.
Do not use this community as your social/political/hatespeech soapbox.
Do not be redundant. One page does not need three or more threads on one topic/theme.
Do not treat this comm like your personal Plurk or Twitter. Off-topic happens, but it should be open for discussion and not just a play-by-play of your life. No one cares.

Re: avatar game brainstorm

it'd definitely be easiest to set in republic city since it's such a multicultural hub and then expand to other areas through events or the occasional approved player plot. i like that—keep it contained, but definitely doable to expand throughout the world.

i'm a little leery about apping canon atla/lok characters, but if it's allowed i don't actually think it would be such a big deal to allow aang or korra to remain the avatar. it would just get weird with world-related plot points/timeline issues. would this be an au game then if everyone arrives a trained bender? (i like the thought of an au game, since it would limit "OMG CANT CONTROL MY BENDING!!!!!!!!"/"this place is so weird????" posts and ppl could get creative, but either way works)

also iffy on the multiple-element bending for non-avatars. there's just so much culture/philosophy attached to each of the four elements, even though it's diluted in lok, that it seems to cheapen it. you still have subsets within bending, i.e. metalbending/lightningbending/healing being widely taught by the time republic city has rolled around, that not every bender of that element can master.
