She's popular on tumblr, but every other place where AA fans lurk seems to hate her. Ya know, like how people hate Kay for (insert reasons).

Whispers it's because the both of them were poorly introduced. That writing team doest know how to make and introduce a good new main character to save their lives. Kay at least gets a lot better in aai2

LBR, Tumblr only likes Athena as much as they do because IMPORTANT STRONG FEMALE LAWYER!! I mean, we need more awesome female characters in video games, but Athena's introduction to the series was so clumsy. TBH, I liked Athena by the time the game was over, but still...

Not just her introduction. What bugged me about Athena was literally everything took place off screen. Unlike Apollo and Phoenix who we see get to know the other main characters over the course of the game, they skip right over that with her. Also how unlike the other law prodigies, Athena seemed to have no real connection to or interest in the law until meeting Phoenix presumably a few years earlier.
