To note, the lack of lapels and such is purposeful. If you want something to work with, his willpower crumbles at any sight of cuteness and he punches people in the gut without warning.

ONE OF THESE DAYS I will participate in these threads myself, because I love OCs and I love drawing so clearly drawing OCs is the best thing I can be doing. Unfortunately however, my graphics tablet is out of commission until I can finally send it back to Jigsaw so they in turn can send it to Wacom, so I'll just stick Maya here in case anyone feels like drawing her.

Full-body image plus a way cuter bust image here! I actually really need more sad, bored, displeased or uninterested faces for her, so if anyone wanted to draw me a moody octopus that would be FAB, but goodness knows if you draw for me I'll drool grossly all over your art anyway regardless of what it happens to be.

I don't really have a good image for artists to work with, but I can give people a description of what this OC looks like, if that's alright.

He's a Fallen Angel that has stubs where his wings once were, and his whole body is just covered from head to toe in scars and burns. While he does wear a loose blue robe that hides some of the damage, it can't hide the fact that his blonde hair is singed, and when he speaks, it's clear that many of his teeth are broken and missing. Despite his appearance, he's a smart Angel who just wants to try and help Humans while sometimes getting back at God.

Hi, I don't come here often but this looks like a lot of fun! I'll absolutely start hitting up some of these requests over the long weekend.

In the meantime, here's this asshole--I don't have a full-body shot of him that I'm really happy with, but hopefully his icons should suffice! Basically he is a tiny, angry genius scientist with a prosthetic left arm, entirely too much hair and a napoleon complex. I am happy to babble about him more on demand.

This is a drawing I had commissioned and here's a color photo. All my icons are b/w because it was hard to make her hair the platinum blonde it should be so I gave up and compromised.

A wee bit late, but I've been really curious to see this dude in someone else's style.

His PB is Allu Arjun, but here is a ye olde drawing that I did many many many moons ago that's a wee bit more accurate.

He's a blind programmer/hacker dude with a computer in his brain who wears protective sunglasses because of an eye disease, ahah.

just an interest check /o\ would anyone be interested in an oc psl-search comm where you can post your ocs for psl purposes and look for other oc players? might also include casual memes for the oc crowd or maybe some oc discussion topics/place where people can post stuff they've been working on etc.

sometimes a person just wants to hit up some ocs with ocs, but we can be a tough find in the crowd idk.

It's a nice idea, but I don't know how many would remember it after a while. You'd have to advertise it here or at Bakerstreet every now and then so you could just as well keep the thread in those places instead of making a comm of its own.

In fact, hasn't there been "find a PLS partner for your OCs" memes anyway?

Then again, it's not costing you anything to make such comm and maybe it'll work. I play mostly OCs myself.

I'm doubtful it'd last long - including more than psl-search entries or whatever seems necessary for it to have a chance, I think. It'd be helpful if everyone wrote a small blurb about their character...the memes shouldn't be copy-pasted from Bakerstreet, either - if stuff's the same, people might just go over there because it has more visibility.

I dunno. Could work. I'd check it out, at least.

good idea or bad idea? describe your ocs as specifically or vaguely as youd like for anons' feedback and possible critique

additionally im curious if people just see 'urban fantasy' on ocs and immediately nope the fuck out. that genre looks to be widely hated

bad idea, context's too key, and a lot of characters that are interesting in stories are boring as fuck in rp settings. maybe a comm or something to ask for constructive crit would be better.

urban fantasy ocs are ~widely hated~ in rp by a lot of the same people who eat it up in canon rp. this is because if it's not careful, a lot of characters/backstories nail the same tropes repeatedly but without the investment of someone who got attached to watching a show.

the main issue i've noticed with ocs on dreamwidth is that people seem to pay more attention to having an original! idea! than to having an engaging personality. but that's just my curmudgeonly cares-too-much-about-ocs two cents.

When it comes to apping/playing your ocs here on dw, where in their story do you prefer to take them from?

I have a serious problem with taking characters (not just ocs) from before their story ends to see how I can fuck up/alter their development.
