Ooo

Rundown: [community profile] rpanons is an anonymous community for role-play related topics. This place serves as a forum for game discussions, canon discussions, RP solicitations (ATP, game ads, open memes), and advice. The occasional off topic comment is inevitable, but please keep heated social and political topics to their respective communities. Posting them here will only get them frozen. Subsequent threads made to bypass a freeze will then be deleted.

Rules:

Do not post pornographic or shocking images.
Do not share private entries, plurks, chat logs, etc.
Do not use this community as your social/political/hatespeech soapbox.
Do not be redundant. One page does not need three or more threads on one topic/theme.
Do not treat this comm like your personal Plurk or Twitter. Off-topic happens, but it should be open for discussion and not just a play-by-play of your life. No one cares.

what percentage of people name their cars? i feel like most people do, but it's something you never talk about, so you can't really tell. maybe i just hang out with the kind of people who name their cars.

i did. i also anthropomorphize it to an alarming degree (ie, refer to it with a gendered pronoun, think of it as having a personality, talk to it and pat it like i would an animal, consider it a friend to some extent)

i've had it for ten years now and just having the car and the freedom to go places helped me through some pretty rough times, i guess is part of it

i've had mine named since i got it. considering the amount of time i spend in that car and how much freedom it gives/gave me, it felt weird just referring to it as a car.

The majority of people I talk to online, and a few offline, tend to name their possessions, including their computers, cars, gaming consoles, phones... I personally don't, though I do find myself talking to inanimate objects like I can reason with them, or that my saying "I can't wait to buy a new ___" is going to make them mad.

i have never named an object of mine. not a car, not a computer, not a toaster. my toys didn't even get names, i just said "i want my patch puppy/doll/duck"
