rpanons is an anonymous community for role-play related topics. This place serves as a forum for game discussions, canon discussions, RP solicitations (ATP, game ads, open memes), and advice. The occasional off topic comment is inevitable, but please keep heated social and political topics to their respective communities. Posting them here will only get them frozen. Subsequent threads made to bypass a freeze will then be deleted.

i have really violent random thoughts that bother me a lot. like hurting animals or children or my own pets.

those and intrusive thoughts, anon. everyone gets stuff like that(though severity+frequency can be a sign of a problem, it'd be more along the lines of mental illness than you being a bad person. for example! people with OCD have particularly bad intrusive thoughts)

yeah, i've heard of those, they just disturb me a lot and i wish my brain would knock it off.

i never think about actually doing harm to people/animals but once i heard about crushcat i caught myself envisioning what a stomped-on kitten would actually look like

in really disturbing detail like the way the jaw would look after being completely mangled and dislocated, the way one or both eyes would be partially or fully ruptured or dislodged from their sockets, the way the fur and whiskers would prickle back into place after being flattened down

it honestly really upset me that i could envision it n that much detail and the frequency with which it happens. i didn't even like writing it down here but at the same time it's kind of a relief to finally tell someone about it

as someone who unwittingly saw screencaps of crushcat

yeah it's that bad

but i know what you mean. i think about locking my cats in a microwave/oven and imagining them trying to get out and slowly dying painfully. it makes me want to cry. i'm kind of tearing up just typing it but yeah. you're not alone

sometimes i imagine really horrible things happening to people and animals just for a split second but in really explicit detail and i can't prevent them, no matter how upsetting they are. sorry you have to put up with it too

Yeah, I get these thoughts too, but they upset me so much I'm not worried there's anything harmful about them. If I was enjoying the thoughts that would be something different.

And a moment later the realization my cat is safe and will continue to be safe (and feels safe and content with me) calms me down.

There's ways to stop them.
