Get over it, nerds

Rundown: [community profile] rpanons is an anonymous community for role-play related topics. This place serves as a forum for game discussions, canon discussions, RP solicitations (ATP, game ads, open memes), and advice. The occasional off topic comment is inevitable, but please keep heated social and political topics to their respective communities. Posting them here will only get them frozen. Subsequent threads made to bypass a freeze will then be deleted.

Rules:

Do not post pornographic or shocking images.
Do not share private entries, plurks, chat logs, etc.
Do not use this community as your social/political/hatespeech soapbox.
Do not be redundant. One page does not need three or more threads on one topic/theme.
Do not treat this comm like your personal Plurk or Twitter. Off-topic happens, but it should be open for discussion and not just a play-by-play of your life. No one cares.

Re: person who has lost 150+ lbs

1. It took me just over two years to lose the full 150 lbs. I lost the first hundred in a year, and then it took me over a year to lose the last fifty.

2. They treat me a lot better and it honestly makes me sad and a bit angry. Not because I don't want to be treated better and with more smiles, but because it makes me wonder why I wasn't good enough to be treated like that before. And I'm not talking about flirting etc, I'm talking about general interactions. The world really is a kinder place to people who fall within a conventionally attractive weight. I'm not sorry that I lost the weight - I did it for myself, for my health, self esteem, and fitness, and I'm proud of what I accomplished. But I didn't expect the difference to be this significant and it both surprised and saddened me.

re: 2. whenever I think about losing weight that is actually what sometimes scares me the most; not it being difficult or me failing, but me succeeding and looking back and going oh. ouch.

anyway, thanks a lot for your answers, and congrats on your accomplishment, anon! :D

no problem, happy to help!

don't let it stop you, anon. lose the weight for yourself if you want to, not for anyone else. sure it hurts a bit, i won't lie, but the sense of accomplishment from doing something like that for yourself is well worth it.
