Popular games that aren't in any danger of dying and have apps open as far as I know right now: City of Ariel, Amat, Brave New World )if you don't mind the mods in charge), Entranceway (surprising given that it's an ancient game), Luceti, The Games, High Seas, Haven, and Holly Heights. Maybe some of the ecats/cfud-style games still alive out there if that's your thing but I've never looked at them too closely.

Since you're looking for simple and slice of life I'd recommend Holly Heights. Personally I found it to be a bit boring for my tastes and it is 99% animu and video games characters if that's an issue for you but it has plenty of people in there and some good quality players.

Isn't Brave New World that weird pokemon game that people were calling post-apoc?

I've never really looked at Holly Heights much before, but I suppose it might be an idea.

yep, it's not my cup of tea and I'm surprised it took off with those mods in charge but it seems to be doing rather well?

Can't say I found the idea of that place being much for me either. Never mind the fact I always thought of Civ V when it was brought up.
