tomino, who is behind most of the uc gundams, is pretty well-known for heavy-handed and depressing. zz (sequel to zeta) is less so but the uc universe in general is not terribly forgiving.

but ultimately gundam on the whole has always been more about the robot, due to needing to sell model kits, than anything else so if you're looking for psychological i don't think this franchise may be the best choice.

aw, really? i figured (ha). i've seen some characters around who looked interesting (although i'll admit the only one i can remember is the one with the purple hair from 00), so i had hope.

i'll give the chart a look, though - how handy!! thanks to you, anon, and the other anons who gave suggestions.
