The shitty life advice brigade

Rundown: [community profile] rpanons is an anonymous community for role-play related topics. This place serves as a forum for game discussions, canon discussions, RP solicitations (ATP, game ads, open memes), and advice. The occasional off topic comment is inevitable, but please keep heated social and political topics to their respective communities. Posting them here will only get them frozen. Subsequent threads made to bypass a freeze will then be deleted.

Rules:

Do not post pornographic or shocking images.
Do not share private entries, plurks, chat logs, etc.
Do not use this community as your social/political/hatespeech soapbox.
Do not be redundant. One page does not need three or more threads on one topic/theme.
Do not treat this comm like your personal Plurk or Twitter. Off-topic happens, but it should be open for discussion and not just a play-by-play of your life. No one cares.

considering what bronies have done to the MLP fandom, I think it's nice to have a space where girls can celebrate one fucking thing marketed for them without a clusterfuck of fedoras swaggering around braying rape jokes and harassing little girls.

I'd be all for women and girls only ponycons if I wasn't so sure that Bronies would start a campaign of harassment because "MISANDRY!!" I like that guys aren't ashamed of liking girly things, but then they make the fandoms all about them while still trying to keep women out of more male-oriented fandoms.

So, yeah, I'm super cool with an event for a shojo series that bars male fans unless a girl brings them with her.

I don't think it's fair to extrapolate the batshittery of the My Little Pony fandom to everything aimed at girls, but I like the idea of us having the option of a space not dominated by guys, and Sailor Moon seems like a good starting point. There should be more men-optional events, just for our comfort and safety.

And before anyone makes the argument, yes, I believe transwomen and transgirls should be just as welcome as the cis ones.
