Unfunny wanky stereotypes

Rundown: [community profile] rpanons is an anonymous community for role-play related topics. This place serves as a forum for game discussions, canon discussions, RP solicitations (ATP, game ads, open memes), and advice. The occasional off topic comment is inevitable, but please keep heated social and political topics to their respective communities. Posting them here will only get them frozen. Subsequent threads made to bypass a freeze will then be deleted.

Rules:

Do not post pornographic or shocking images.
Do not share private entries, plurks, chat logs, etc.
Do not use this community as your social/political/hatespeech soapbox.
Do not be redundant. One page does not need three or more threads on one topic/theme.
Do not treat this comm like your personal Plurk or Twitter. Off-topic happens, but it should be open for discussion and not just a play-by-play of your life. No one cares.

what's the word count of your personality sections, on average?

600-800 words tends to be the average for me. enough to get all of my points out, not so many that i overburden the mods with navel-gazey detail.

my last two were 1200 and 600, so apparently like 900 on average? :b

it really, really depends on the character, for me, and how much bullshit they veil themselves in, and how conflicted their ideals and behavior are. i don't feel like 1200 words were too many for the first character (who is super-conflicted and has very distinct lines between what he says and what he does), or that 600 (a few dozen of which were straight-up quotes) were too few for a character that one only has two or three short encounters with in a 10+ hour game.

hovering somewhere around 800 i think with the exception of my one character whose canon has been going on for like 16 years. he requires a little bit more.

i aim at 1000 and limit myself to 1500 because that is extreme tl;dr territory

I average around a thousand. I tend to be drawn to characters who either put up very solid fronts, or have ideals that their actions would conflict with if examined under a modern, normal-earth lens, and I prefer to reconcile that in my initial app so I'm less likely to have to deal with revisions.
