Unfunny wanky stereotypes

Rundown: [community profile] rpanons is an anonymous community for role-play related topics. This place serves as a forum for game discussions, canon discussions, RP solicitations (ATP, game ads, open memes), and advice. The occasional off topic comment is inevitable, but please keep heated social and political topics to their respective communities. Posting them here will only get them frozen. Subsequent threads made to bypass a freeze will then be deleted.

I'm actually quite fine (and prefer) some staggered IC/OOC day ratio, however, given the premise of this game and the focus on the zodiac elements which run on real time I definitely think would be a problem.

I'm REALLY interested in re-apping in, but having it be 1:1 would probably have me hesitate to app in (unless it stays small and manageable) but another alternative idea I can think of is to play with the fact (as I think the mods were trying to go for in their post) that the planet is way out far away from it's sun-star and logically it would take a Really Really Really long time for it to make one orbit (one year) around the star. The planet's rotation however would determine the days.

So let's say we stagger it at 1:3--that means all they would have to do is make the "year" match for all the zodiac signs to line up.

1:3 = 1,095 ooc days in 1 Opi-year. It could still line up, but you would have to keep in mind every zodiac season would have to be thrice as long. Just as an example.

If that were to work out everyone would have to rely heavily on the game calendar. Which I'm all for, I check those things religiously in any game that has them and keeps them up to date, but I can't say the same for everyone else.

...which when put into that perspective I think probably a 1:2 would work best when it comes to ooc patience expectations. Each zodiac sign would get a spotlight two months long at a time. 1 Opi-year would be 2 ooc years as opposed to three, so it's not quite so long.

So your sign only gets featured once every two years? Even just once a year sounds harsh, and that would be with a 1:1. I mean, I do think it should be staggered too, but I'm wondering how to make the sign feature thing work at the same time.

Each sign has an opposite, right? Maybe both the current sign and its opposite would have effects at the same time, not necessarily the same effects? That way, there's more opportunities for people to take advantage of this element of the game? Logically then, your sign would have something going on at least once a year?

I like that, maybe there could be something playing off rising/moon signs to that effect so there's not such a long wait between zodiac seasons?
