......on that note, I'll express that I think a 2 IC days to every 7 OOC days is a terrible idea. How are characters supposed to forge relationships like that? So ICly the world will expand at an exponential rate over a matter of days? What's with all these new game proposals with ridiculously slow IC progression like this?

Considering that backdating and backtagging is the overwhelming norm and has been for at least a year now, I don't understand this either. 2:7 is severe.

that part has me scratching my head as well. i'm all for backdating, but 2:7? that's a bit much. and way more complicated than it needs to be. i can see a lot of issues cropping up because of this. ariel has a few people that forget that it's 1:3, which i personally think is the slowest a game should be. a month is just under 2 ic weeks. it's easier to remember and work around. 2:7 is just complicated and people are going to have to live on the calender to date anything.

Yeah, I was seriously confused about this too. This post http://zodionooc.dreamwidth.org/490375.html mentions each month having different effects on the characters based on what their signs are, which I think is an excellent idea and plays into the astrology theme, but how can that even be implemented ICly when a single IC month would take 15 weeks of OOC time?

maybe ask the mods to clarify how they intend to have that work out? because i can easily see that being a point of contention.

I'm actually quite fine (and prefer) some staggered IC/OOC day ratio, however, given the premise of this game and the focus on the zodiac elements which run on real time I definitely think would be a problem.

I'm REALLY interested in re-apping in, but having it be 1:1 would probably have me hesitate to app in (unless it stays small and manageable) but another alternative idea I can think of is to play with the fact (as I think the mods were trying to go for in their post) that the planet is way out far away from it's sun-star and logically it would take a Really Really Really long time for it to make one orbit (one year) around the star. The planet's rotation however would determine the days.

So let's say we stagger it at 1:3--that means all they would have to do is make the "year" match for all the zodiac signs to line up.

1:3 = 1,095 ooc days in 1 Opi-year. It could still line up, but you would have to keep in mind every zodiac season would have to be thrice as long. Just as an example.

If that were to work out everyone would have to rely heavily on the game calendar. Which I'm all for, I check those things religiously in any game that has them and keeps them up to date, but I can't say the same for everyone else.

...which when put into that perspective I think probably a 1:2 would work best when it comes to ooc patience expectations. Each zodiac sign would get a spotlight two months long at a time. 1 Opi-year would be 2 ooc years as opposed to three, so it's not quite so long.

So your sign only gets featured once every two years? Even just once a year sounds harsh, and that would be with a 1:1. I mean, I do think it should be staggered too, but I'm wondering how to make the sign feature thing work at the same time.

Each sign has an opposite, right? Maybe both the current sign and its opposite would have effects at the same time, not necessarily the same effects? That way, there's more opportunities for people to take advantage of this element of the game? Logically then, your sign would have something going on at least once a year?

I like that, maybe there could be something playing off rising/moon signs to that effect so there's not such a long wait between zodiac seasons?

i'd be really sad to see such a slow rate like that. one of the reasons i had to drop ariel was that it was too slow and it felt like nothing ever happened in the game, so i've been looking forward to the zodion reboot.

they may not do it like that. they're doing a poll now.

I can't comment in that entry because I'n not in the game, but thank you mods for being so open-minded about suggestions and input from anons!
