Rundown: [community profile] rpanons is an anonymous community for role-play related topics. This place serves as a forum for game discussions, canon discussions, RP solicitations (ATP, game ads, open memes), and advice. The occasional off topic comment is inevitable, but please keep heated social and political topics to their respective communities. Posting them here will only get them frozen. Subsequent threads made to bypass a freeze will then be deleted.

Rules:

Do not post pornographic or shocking images.
Do not share private entries, plurks, chat logs, etc.
Do not use this community as your social/political/hatespeech soapbox.
Do not be redundant. One page does not need three or more threads on one topic/theme.
Do not treat this comm like your personal Plurk or Twitter. Off-topic happens, but it should be open for discussion and not just a play-by-play of your life. No one cares.

As someone who has played Celty, absolutely yes. Body language and expression are the only things you have to convey how the character might be feeling and are vital in giving other people something to work with in their response. The subtle nuances that don't matter so much for characters who have words and tone to help them are going to be crucial - it might not be IC for all characters to pick up on them but it helps the other player know what's going on and to appreciate the mood of the thread. You actually have an advantage in being able to use facial expressions too because that'll be easier for other characters to pick up on as well as the players.

Also when you do have your character write or text, going into the finer details of that can help convey mood too - are they taking their time? Is their writing a hurried scrawl? Are they typing so quickly that words or letters get missed? These can all convey tone and mood quite effectively.

And good luck, anon! Playing characters who can't/don't speak is definitely a challenge but it's one I've found I enjoy and I hope you will too.
