Rundown: [community profile] rpanons is an anonymous community for role-play related topics. This place serves as a forum for game discussions, canon discussions, RP solicitations (ATP, game ads, open memes), and advice. The occasional off topic comment is inevitable, but please keep heated social and political topics to their respective communities. Posting them here will only get them frozen. Subsequent threads made to bypass a freeze will then be deleted.

Rules:

Do not post pornographic or shocking images.
Do not share private entries, plurks, chat logs, etc.
Do not use this community as your social/political/hatespeech soapbox.
Do not be redundant. One page does not need three or more threads on one topic/theme.
Do not treat this comm like your personal Plurk or Twitter. Off-topic happens, but it should be open for discussion and not just a play-by-play of your life. No one cares.

I play games for story. But I sure don't play Assassin's Creed (note: I've only played the first one, I'm told it gets better about this in later installments) for story because Assassin's Creed is a narrative disaster zone, and while the future stuff wasn't the stupidest part of it, it sure felt like the most incredibly pointless.

Well...based on your own words, you don't play Assassin's Creed at all, anon. Which is completely fine; I like the series a lot myself, but I'm not offended if other people don't, and despite my fondness for it, the first game really is like a beta test in a lot of ways. But in the following four games that you didn't play, they did improve the modern story and gave it much more interesting stuff than "Desmond whines, reads a couple of e-mails." There absolutely was more substance there to draw in people who like story in their games, and they chucked it out the window anyway. That's the thing that sucks.
