as someone that loves the jak and daxter franchise (well, we don't talk about that awful frontier game, but other than that) i can understand your rage despite feeling differently.

it felt like, to me, that daxter had grown to be more comfortable as an ottsel than as the scrawny, kinda doofy-lookin' human he once was. i saw it as another sign that he's accepted being an ottsel, and also as a confirmation that he had grown less and less invested in the idea of having a human form again over time.

sigh. i guess i can see that, too, but when the grant-a-wish thing came up, i was like "YES, OH GOD YES, FINALLY, FINALLY SOME PAYOFF-- wait, what????" so it still just... ):

though generally that ending rubs me the wrong way. tess goes ottsel for dax, then never appears again? seriously? (not to mention her godawful design as an ottsel, bluh.) DOUBLE SIGH.

... but at least we can agree on that awful frontier game! i could barely get through the first ten minutes before noping out, because nope.

yeah i totally understand! jak 3's ending has a lot of polarizing stuff in it.

i thought tess was cute as an ottsel but wow yeah the way she just vanished was lame. i thought they were a kawaii couple so for her to disappear into the ether after 3 was like....but why.

i suffered through the frontier game for awhile longer, like an hour? because goddammit i wanted another jak and daxter game please stop being so shitty but noped out when ~dark!daxter~ happened.

i looove tess, and honestly wouldn't mind her design as an ottsel if they hadn't done the TITS! HAIR! LONG SHAPELY LEGS! thing on her when none of the other ottsels looked at ALL like that. if ottsel daxter had had spiky hair? if the precursors had a member that had near-human proportions? then yeah, sure! give tess her hair and tits.

but all the rest of them looked most like like bipedal animals, and tess just looked like... fuzzy tess.

it only took me a few minutes to go like, "... they're treating Dax like a pet, not a party member." which is apparently my nopepoint. because even if he HAS decided he's comfortable in a nonhuman body, i'm super not comfortable with him being treated as a mascot or less than human by the MAIN FUCKING CHARACTERS who have known him since he WAS human.
