Rundown: [community profile] rpanons is an anonymous community for role-play related topics. This place serves as a forum for game discussions, canon discussions, RP solicitations (ATP, game ads, open memes), and advice. The occasional off topic comment is inevitable, but please keep heated social and political topics to their respective communities. Posting them here will only get them frozen. Subsequent threads made to bypass a freeze will then be deleted.

The Last of Us game? No network, prose, if you die, your character is dead or you play out their infection until they die or are killed off?

I like that idea, too, anon. Though if you wanted to add a Network, you could incorporate bits from FEED. I know its not The Last of Us, but I'd love a game that incorporated the best bits from a lot of the zombie canons out there.

I really like the idea of actually dying. That'd be a first for a lot of DW players.

Could be a thing but I feel like a lot of games rely too much on networks. Personally I'd rather play in one without one for a change.

I stick mainly to PSLs, so I haven't encountered the problem. It seems to be prevalent from what I've read. It makes no sense to have a network set up under the circumstances the world would find itself in.

It's ridiculous that whenever someone suggests a game without a network, the first comment seems to be "but if you wanted to have a network..."

Did it never occur to them that if the person with a game idea really wanted a network, they would have mentioned it right away?

ngl this has been in my head too, especially for a smaller sized game. not finished TLOU yet but would you keep the game contained to a quarantine zone and the surrounding area or would you do something different?

Maybe excursions to outside? The game had noted there was mandatory outside details and it could also be a thing to try to check nearby towns and cities? The main thing is the players would have to be willing to play out their own infected attacks instead of sitting around waiting for it to happen.

I wrote this up some time back. I'm co-modding a game at the moment but I'm really interested in this idea and would love to lend any help.

I think the game doesn't have to be confined to a quarantine zone. We can choose a city and allow the players to be within the QZ or outside or in the firefly's base. It's up to the players! Plots can be big-scale ones like an infected invasion into the QZ rendering it uninhabitable and forcing characters to move away. It has scope for allowing characters to lead the way in terms of what happens next in game.

I'm digging it, I'm digging it. I'd be interested in playing out a survivor type who would be infected and also the descent into infection, since it's implied they might not be all gone even as they're attacking people. And a large scale infection outbreak in the QZ would be painfully AWESOME, damn.

isn't it just? I love this setting so much, not just the place or the scenery but everything, the conflict and the different sides and the fact that there's no such thing as the good side and the bad side really, they're all just trying to survive in their own different ways!
