rpanons is an anonymous community for role-play related topics. This place serves as a forum for game discussions, canon discussions, RP solicitations (ATP, game ads, open memes), and advice. Since there's a lot of anon comm people and quite a few game-players...any chance for some crossing over?

Does anyone want to find a game to try? Do any game players want to see if they can find any characters to try to enable?

I keep waffling on whether to try a game or not. I'm bored and want to try something new, but I've never been in a game and it seems kind of intimidating.

Games can be a big difference if you're used to very slow threads and not having any kind of structure (dropping threads, playing ooc for kicks because it's just a meme, etc). If you're someone who enjoys keeping up with the threads you normally tag in PSLs and memes and would like more continuity, games will probably be easy for you. The big thing is finding a game that fits what speed you like with an AC you think you can keep up with and a premise you can have a lot of fun with.

What character are you thinking of playing?

I play at the anonmeme, so I'm used to relatively fast and some degree of continuity.

So I guess the main issue would be finding a game that's a good fit. (Sounds like something that's easier said than done!)

I play Norway. So, that brings its own set of challenges too, because sometimes it can be difficult to bounce him off of other characters.

It's definitely easier said than done. It depends on what you're looking for in a game. Slice of life? Horror? AU? A mix? Try reading up on game premises and looking to see if there's a test drive meme on the OOC comm you can use.

Since you said you play Norway, I would suggest checking out HollyHeights or SavetheEarth. I've never played at STE so I can't say anything about it other than it's kind of AU? But HH is a really fun and easy game based on my past experiences. Personally, I would definitely recommend HH.

HH has a big cast, but is very slice of life and there was a full nordic cast until recently.

STE is AU and the Sweden and Finland are genderswapped but is more plot driven. It's about to go into season 2 as well which might make it harder to throw people into depending what happens.

Both have their pros and cons.

Someone else already posted the HH info so I'll chime in with the test drive meme for STE (http://saveyourbrain.dreamwidth.org/18865.html) and the reserves (http://theearth.dreamwidth.org/2948.html). (And it looks like there's a Sealand on reserve there too).

Thanks to both of you. :) I've already started taking a look at HH, and I'll investigate STE... HH has the advantage of a fuller Hetalia cast, but who knows!
I've also considered one that was not mentioned upthread (Ataraxion) but it's hard to be sure whether that would be a good fit; I need to stalk it more and get some impressions beyond what my friend who's in it has to say about it.

It's hard for me to be sure what I'm looking for in a game, because my experience is so limited. So, I guess what I need to do is just look around to get a feel of things, and try some testdrives. At least now I sort of know where to start; so thanks again, this has been helpful.

I know the cast at Holly Heights would probably cream their pants for more people to play with!
