HELLO. i always did want to app to ste before, i just didn't know with who! i'm glad to know gundam characters work well over there, that puts me at ease. though i dont have a fellow gundam to app, i'll actually really consider this. my character is kind of similar to a newtype so basically apping somewhere without his mecha would make it really hard to adapt.

playing a character who's canonly ableist: thoughts? their prejudices are a reflection of the really horrible fictional universe they are from, and it would be OOC for them to change easily.

said character is also awful in other ways, including being a murderer, but somehow that seems like less of an issue because everyone acknowledges unspokenly that there's a clear IC/OOC line with such morally extreme acts. with stuff like ableism or transphobia or misogyny etc, where the use of language in fiction directly relates to and reinforces their existence in real life, it seems to me more necessary to be mindful.

maybe I'm overthinking - I just want to be respectful about things.

honestly you're not missing much but i will say kh2 is just fun to play in general. the battles are sometimes so over the top it's hilarious.

oh, definitely. most of the stuff i've played from has been really camp or just absurd, and that's part of the fun of roleplaying for me (especially when the characters themselves take everything seriously)

Yeah, that stuff can be more upsetting than fictional murder stuff since it's hard to know when the person writing the character shares those views... Personally I find that knowing the player doesn't share them and knows that what their character's saying is gross makes that sort of thing a lot less offputting, so when I play a character who's a really awful person in ways that I'm concerned could be taken as me being really awful, I usually make a post on their journal to note that the awfulness is IC rather than OOC, and that I acknowledge that they're terrible, and asking that if anybody would prefer not to be tagged by them they can let me know and I'll steer clear.
