playing a character who's canonly ableist: thoughts? their prejudices are a reflection of the really horrible fictional universe they are from, and it would be OOC for them to change easily.
said character is also awful in other ways, including being a murderer, but somehow that seems like less of an issue because everyone acknowledges unspokenly that there's a clear IC/OOC line with such morally extreme acts. with stuff like ableism or transphobia or misogyny etc, where the use of language in fiction directly relates to and reinforces their existence in real life, it seems to me more necessary to be mindful.
