Rundown: [community profile] rpanons is an anonymous community for role-play related topics. This place serves as a forum for game discussions, canon discussions, RP solicitations (ATP, game ads, open memes), and advice. The occasional off topic comment is inevitable, but please keep heated social and political topics to their respective communities. Posting them here will only get them frozen. Subsequent threads made to bypass a freeze will then be deleted.

Rules:

Do not post pornographic or shocking images.
Do not share private entries, plurks, chat logs, etc.
Do not use this community as your social/political/hatespeech soapbox.
Do not be redundant. One page does not need three or more threads on one topic/theme.
Do not treat this comm like your personal Plurk or Twitter. Off-topic happens, but it should be open for discussion and not just a play-by-play of your life. No one cares.

Also on this computer thing

...exactly why couldn't she be reversed the same way Takuto was? He wasn't put through a fight either, it was just 'hi I'm going to possess you now'

I have absolutely no idea, and I don't think the writers really thought things through. Or they did at first, but then got tired and dropped the ball when it came to answering the question of now a non-fighter got reversed.

Granted, when it came to Takuto I was willing to believe something like "Because he's from Cray, he's susceptible to BS." Because Cray's ties to Earth and all the plots involving it so far make it seem like it/its inhabitants are just that easily taken over by any little thing. I'm also willing to believe that Link Joker did something special just for him because he was their best shot at starting out on Earth.

But... None of this is said! So instead of getting something interesting, like "Nagashiro was interested in Vanguard the whole time, but she kept it from the other student council members because she knew they wouldn't approve and they're her besties, so that weakened her heart..." and so on, we got "Here's Nagashiro (way back at the start of the season) looking at her computer while those guys argue about Cardfight-bu. Oh, look! The LJ rings! Uh-oh..."

That was literally it. She wasn't a fighter, she just sort of... magically became one because Link Joker said so! And she's been affected since the start of the season, so if the trend of "I don't remember anything" holds up, that means she's missing a pretty big chunk of time there. Of course, we don't have to worry about that implication because they'll never mention it again (I bet), so...

Yeah. Again, I have absolutely no idea. And it's kind of aggravating because I know it's just a children's card game show (I should really just relax), but I can't help it when they throw out a nice idea like reversing and then just proceed to go BLUH BLUH BLUH with it.

My headcanon is that Nagashiro was already pretty lonely and filled with "emptiness" so that made it easier for them to Reverse her and create a mole within the school.

Maybe it takes a great deal of effort to specifically Reverse someone this way, and maybe the person has to have the inclination towards it. One of the major advantages of the regular Reverse method is that it doesn't matter who you are or what your personality is like: it works on everyone as soon as they lose a Cardfight.

But maybe I'm just making excuses IDK.

The thing is that those are fine ideas, but the show isn't saying or really showing anything that explicitly backs that up. If they ever do, then I can go "Oh, okay" and forgive it—I'm not dead set on being mad about this. I just am right now because as it's presented, it's not coming across as well as I feel it ought to.

Oh, I completely agree with you. I have my headcanon but that doesn't really excuse the lack of clarification on the show's end.

Aha. I was just making sure I made myself clear there. Because I was talking to someone else (a person who isn't a fan) about this, and they were like "And you're still watching because...?" It made me realize that, yeah, I'm harping on these details pretty bad, but it's not in any... "real serious capacity," I want to say? Like, it irks me, but I don't really mind making up reasons why X and Y make sense, but at the same time I just want the show to do it itself.
