ugh so i have this character of mine who, well

she's an arrogant jerk, but she's not unkillable. she has this ability to like piss off everyone because she thinks she's better than everyone else. anyway, i made a post with her and then a super overpowered character comes into it and i'm like "so what are the chances of my character surviving if yours gets too angry and decides to fight" and they're like "none lol"

:/ sigh. so i guess my character is going to get killed and there's nothing I can do about it because she ICly wouldn't back off, especially since she doesn't know this other character or his powers

all i can suggest is that you work something out with the other player so their asshole doesn't kill yours. have a herd of tribbles stampede through the scene and sweep your character away, have an angry dragon come out of nowhere to attack supergokujesus, whatever

otherwise i understand where you're coming from, i had a character who was very grating and pissed off a lot of characters in his game and pretty much the only reason people became interested in playing with him was so that their characters could beat him up and torture him, even when i proposed doing things to expand on his non-annoying-jerk traits

i mean i'm all for ica=icc but there comes a point where it just goes overboard and you get sick of your annoying loudmouth being treated like they've just set a litter of puppies on fire or something

Just, I dunno. If you don't want her to die, and it's a public thread, ask a player of someone your character is friends with to intervene at some point during the fight so she doesn't get her ass killed.

Or if you think they're BSing you, look the character up and see if they're as awesome as they say they are.

See the thing is I know the character is powerful, because the canon is dumb BS and can summon giant monsters and fuck

...Also she doesn't really have any friends.

oh well, luckily if she realizes she has no choice of winning, she will back off. I just get irritated if I make a post and it's like "HEY GUESS WHAT YOUR CHARACTER IS GOING TO GET MURDERED IN THEIR OWN POST LOL"

Just talk to the other player, tell him/her you don't want your character to die, and see if there's not a way you can just retcon the thread out, that way it won't look like your character wandered off mid-interaction and you won't have to deal with the consequences of the fight maybe rearing its head again next time you thread.
