rpanons is an anonymous community for role-play related topics. This place serves as a forum for game discussions, canon discussions, RP solicitations (ATP, game ads, open memes), and advice. The occasional off topic comment is inevitable, but please keep heated social and political topics to their respective communities. Posting them here will only get them frozen. Subsequent threads made to bypass a freeze will then be deleted.

eclectic pagan, though I've been leaning towards hellenistic lately.

I have an altar in my apartment bedroom, just a small one, but it's something at least. I'm not open about it to my family but all my friends know, including my roommate. It was actually one of the first things we discussed when we moved in together (we were roomed together by the school we go to so we didn't know each other until the day we both moved in).

She actually got really into it and in turn got her mom into it, but they're not pagan so much as Christian-Wiccan or however you want to say it. It's actually pretty cool because I used to be embarrassed about practicing openly but her and her mom are really enthusiastic about it and love buying things-- and because they're generous, they buy me much-needed items too as gifts. It's really nice!

It gets a little annoying sometimes though because they're able to spend the money to buy more than I ever could since my family wouldn't financially back me with that (they got handmade wands, for example, and can afford to buy and ship things I couldn't), but her mom makes me feel so welcome to it even though I'm the one who's been doing it longest that I can't really complain.

We do rituals together sometimes or she'll make me good luck satchels to put in my bag before tests and I'll do the same for her. We pour over recipes for pagan holidays and it's a lot of fun going out, buying everything, and then cooking in the kitchen. Sometimes we get silly with it and make up incantations like we're those stereotypical witches over a cauldron and just get silly.

I don't talk about it much on my plurk or anything though mostly because I had an unfortunate experience a couple years back where someone actually expressed an explicit desire for me to not talk about it because it made her uncomfortable and was an affront to her religion and everything. Since then I've kind of kept low on it. I mention it once or twice if something happens or in my intro plurks I make a note of it but aside from that I'm p. tight-lipped on it.
