Someone brought that up to the mods on the HMD a couple cycles ago and they brushed it off. That was the exact moment I realized the game was doomed. I love the game and love my cr and I'm sticking around to at least give the reboot a chance, but we are not what we are advertising. There's no way you can call it a superhero game anymore. It's a false pretense and that's not going to encourage new people who do join to stick around.

Also, why is it that every time someone says anything remotely critical that it must be grudgewankers? Cape and Cowl is not perfect. In fact, it's very, very far from perfect. It isn't a crime to think so or to say so. I can point out the massive flaws and failings of the game and still enjoy it. I can recognize that the mods routinely play favorites and are unreceptive to criticism while still enjoying my threads and cr (when people bother to tag back, that is). Commenting on the failings =/= grudgewank.

Just drive-by-anoning here but I think it may be because the anons that so rabidly white-knight the game are grudgewankers themselves. They'll lash out at anyone that says anything remotely negative about the game or that says or does anything they don't agree with and go out of their way to be assholes to them so they expect the same of everyone else.

I recall saying this to one of the mods about a year ago when things were really going down the slice of life road, because I'd advertised the game to some friends who ultimately dropped because there wasn't much superheroing going on, and what little there was, they were locked out of because of the mods favoring certain players when it came to that sort of thing. Everything I said was brushed off and I got some passive-aggressive sniping from some other players on Plurk.

And as far as that's concerned, there are still people insisting that all of C&C's wank comes from outside the game, but it's pretty obvious at this point that they're trying to obscure the fact that this game is full of some severely toxic and petty little assholes who hate having to put in time and effort to make their CR what they want it to be, or improve the game, but hate even more when they're called out on it.
