Rundown: [community profile] rpanons is an anonymous community for role-play related topics. This place serves as a forum for game discussions, canon discussions, RP solicitations (ATP, game ads, open memes), and advice. The occasional off topic comment is inevitable, but please keep heated social and political topics to their respective communities. Posting them here will only get them frozen. Subsequent threads made to bypass a freeze will then be deleted.

Rules:

Do not post pornographic or shocking images.
Do not share private entries, plurks, chat logs, etc.
Do not use this community as your social/political/hatespeech soapbox.
Do not be redundant. One page does not need three or more threads on one topic/theme.
Do not treat this comm like your personal Plurk or Twitter. Off-topic happens, but it should be open for discussion and not just a play-by-play of your life. No one cares.

there are black russians!

i can't speak to how hirsute they are in comparison to non-black russians, though. not enough data.

since i have never seen one, i cannot say either! but i hope they have the brows that they desire.

(Anonymous) 2013-12-04 05:27 am (UTC)(link)
let them grow out then get them waxed/shaped by a professional. from there pluck for maintenance and use makeup to fill in areas where they're light and accentuate shape.

my camera's not so good in this light but here you go

Sorry anon, I got distracted playing a video game. You've actually got a really good start for your brows going on! My recommendation is to trim the inner portion slightly, so your brows start just past the corners of your eyes.

There's a quick mockup I did (ignore that they're not completely even, it was free hand in pixlr).

You have a really good natural arch, so to emphasis it I would trim under it slightly to bring out the curve. Don't pluck the tail end of your brow, you'll want them to extend down a bit further if possible.

As far as not using makeup, that's really up to you, but it's a hell of a lot easier to get that polished look using a combination of pencils, powder, and concealer.

(Anonymous) 2013-12-04 06:59 am (UTC)(link)
i'm in the habit of keeping them closer together because i'm self-conscious about how far apart my eyes are. i'll save this for now and wait until they fill in a little more before trimming them. and i do use pencils but i try not to go too heavy because otherwise it looks sort of weird. ty anon, this was helpful.

if you're looking for a makeup solution, try brow pencils/powder?

(Anonymous) 2013-12-04 05:30 am (UTC)(link)
i do this! but i'd like them to be a bit more organized naturally, if that's possible

Chloroform and a razor

(Anonymous) 2013-12-04 05:48 am (UTC)(link)
idk this seems like a terrible idea for some reason

(Anonymous) 2013-12-04 05:40 am (UTC)(link)
are they sparse as a result of overtweezing?

if growing them out isnt working then either makeup or cosmetic tattooing might be your best bets

(Anonymous) 2013-12-04 05:47 am (UTC)(link)
they're mostly sparse towards the middle and i'm honestly not sure why? because i never pluck/wax there. it just sort of happened over time and now i pencil it in

(Anonymous) 2013-12-04 05:56 am (UTC)(link)
yeah, that can happen. im guessing it isnt a scar or anything?

eyebrow hairs can take up to a year to grow back and its generally recommended to leave them to grow out for at least that if youre trying to get a fuller brow, so dont lose faith just yet! you can also try to encourage growth by exfoliating the skin to encourage blood flow specifically on the brows, or try to seek out a specialized brow serum

(Anonymous) 2013-12-04 06:00 am (UTC)(link)
nope! they just got thinner on their own

oh wow, i didn't know they could take that long. and i've never used an exfoliant on my eyebrows because i was afraid it'd be too harsh anywhere around the eye area. ty anon

ayrt

(Anonymous) 2013-12-04 06:07 am (UTC)(link)
huh! thats strange. im in school to become a cosmetician and i dont know that we ever covered this when we were talking about brows. will have to look through my prof's powerpoints and get back to you!
tho thinning brows can mean that you should get your thyroid checked because that can sometimes mean you have an underproductive thyroid so that might be something to look into.

yeah using an actual exfoliant around the eyes is a bad idea, what id suggest is using a baby toothbrush and just gently brushing through them. it will be gentle enough to not bother the eye area, but just enough to start scrubbing the skin and tricking cells into regenerating. you can also use a brow razor to trick them into growing more skin cells/hair but since yours are sparse to start with i dont know that that will help all that much

yw anon!! i hope you achieve the brows of your dreams soon <3
