Rundown: [community profile] rpanons is an anonymous community for role-play related topics. This place serves as a forum for game discussions, canon discussions, RP solicitations (ATP, game ads, open memes), and advice. The occasional off topic comment is inevitable, but please keep heated social and political topics to their respective communities. Posting them here will only get them frozen. Subsequent threads made to bypass a freeze will then be deleted.

Rules:

Do not post pornographic or shocking images.
Do not share private entries, plurks, chat logs, etc.
Do not use this community as your social/political/hatespeech soapbox.
Do not be redundant. One page does not need three or more threads on one topic/theme.
Do not treat this comm like your personal Plurk or Twitter. Off-topic happens, but it should be open for discussion and not just a play-by-play of your life. No one cares.

Inspired by the anon responses to the CnC reboot, how do we feel the meta discussion has been going?

I'm excited that some people are championing a return to old form / a resolution to some of those stray plot threads that haven't gone anywhere. I'm a little worried about the way Shikamaru's mun seems to be taking over the post though.

I don't want to be a naysayer, but I'm still worried about what might happen to this game. I know we've been assured that it won't close, but I'm a worrywart anyway.

I wasn't seeing much "discussion" until Shikamaru's mun chimed in, actually. Did you mean that, or what we think of everyone's comments?

not sure what you mean by "taking over" when charles, luna, and cross' mun (i forget his name) are talking just as much. in fact i'd say they're the only ones who are having actual discussions in the post.

Charles and Chris were saying things? I didn't notice, but that could be because my brain automatically filters out everything they say as bullshit that should be ignored.

tbh seeing as the mods are now working with less mods, i feel like most of the suggestions should be geared more towards how to lesson complexity and remove straggling nps/plots rather than implementing new shit like currency and IC voting on experiments. i liked the malnosso better as grey-area-villains than the weird big-brother-figure they've turned into.

Some of the suggestions (ex: voting on experiments) are kind of cool, but people wanting a return to the way the game was...I dunno how to feel about that. I apped in about two years ago so it would be cool to play in that environment, but it would also feel weird for the game to regress like that when it's progressed to where it is.

Also, I feel like things like currency would just are unnecessary and would add one more thing to factor in, though I guess it would depend on how they implement it. The last time I played in a game with IC currency, I was always having to go back and check wages and how many days and how much my character would spend on this and that and calculate it for my character and it was a pain to keep up with.

I'd put this stuff on the post but it would feel redundant at this point, imo.

ugh yes, i played in a game that had it once and i hated it because it was such a pain to track and deal with. one of the draws for luceti for me was that currency and supplies weren't something that needed to be worried about. i wouldn't want to see that changed.

i have to keep track of money irl, why would i want to do it in a game too?

Crap the discussion's going again? I kept track of the post for about five days but didn't see much actual discussion going on, so I stopped checking the comments.

i trust the mods judgement. no offense to masa, he was a great mod and he did a lot of great things and i think without him luceti probably would've closed a long time ago, but i was the most invested in luceti before it became more of a war game than a big-brotheresque game.

i think the war elements will stay but if we shake it up by bringing in older plot elements then i wouldn't be complaining. i'm staying either way, but my personal preference is to see some of the things i really loved about luceti, the crueler malnosso, the more serious experiments, etc, come back.

Psst guys, why don't you wander over to the post to post those opinions there if you're worried about other people taking the lead in a discussion? Talking over here won't get your voices heard.
