Rundown:
rpanons is an anonymous community for role-play related topics. This place serves as a forum for game discussions, canon discussions, RP solicitations (ATP, game ads, open memes), and advice. The occasional off topic comment is inevitable, but please keep heated social and political topics to their respective communities. Posting them here will only get them frozen. Subsequent threads made to bypass a freeze will then be deleted.
Rules:
Do not post pornographic or shocking images.
Do not share private entries, plurks, chat logs, etc.
Do not use this community as your social/political/hatespeech soapbox.
Do not be redundant. One page does not need three or more threads on one topic/theme.
Do not treat this comm like your personal Plurk or Twitter. Off-topic happens, but it should be open for discussion and not just a play-by-play of your life. No one cares.

(Anonymous) 2013-09-10 12:32 pm (UTC)(link)It's just ironic to me that these tumblr babies are crying that he's a white guy taking the spotlight for social justice when they're all trying desperately to do the same thing.
tl;dr idk i guess i'm still really sad that he died in the sixth harry potter book

(Anonymous) 2013-09-10 03:38 pm (UTC)(link)although omg i just looked up the racialicious article and i am cracking up at this. And in the third verse he raps, “and a certificate on paper isn’t gonna solve it all, but it’s a damn good place to start.” For many queer people of color who have not seen themselves represented in the marriage equality campaign, it can be very hurtful to have a straight person–let alone a white one in a musical genre that was created to address white supremacy–tell them where the best place to start is. where do i even staaaaaaaaaaaart.

(Anonymous) 2013-09-10 04:16 pm (UTC)(link)This is what I hate about sjw culture, it isn't fighting for justice or a cause it's just endless nitpicking and hate breeding and just a big ugly fight to prove who is THE MOST INFORMED.

Really hit the nail on the head on why it's impossible to take these people seriously.

(Anonymous) 2013-09-11 01:26 am (UTC)(link)it's because he's straight
and acting like he's the first pro-gay artist in hip-hop
even though there are, and have been, queer artists. that are being ignored in his stead.
that's the problem people have with macklemore. where he not in the spotlight, he'd be fine. his song would be fine. the fact that he's getting more praise and attention than actual queer people, and the fact that he stole the song from a queer artist is a problem.
sorry you have trouble understanding that

(Anonymous) 2013-09-11 03:10 am (UTC)(link)Also fun fact: when people continue to point out that he's white, cis and male and condemn him for it in all of their angry posts, it diminishes the sentiment behind their original post. If you can't get your head out of your ass for five seconds to speak about something factually and not bring petty insults and judgement into it, people might actually fucking listen.

(Anonymous) 2013-09-11 03:40 am (UTC)(link)the fucking lyrics of same love:
"If I was gay, I would think hip-hop hates me"
you ding dong
also, pointing out that he's straight and talking over queer people isn't "petty insults" wtf, anon

(Anonymous) 2013-09-11 03:23 pm (UTC)(link)the guy is popular because he had a couple other catchy popular songs and same love didn't even get popular until this year (it was released over a year ago). he's not "talking over queer people." he's expressing support for gay rights. people are going to give him more attention because he was already popular. considering how backwards gay rights are in the states and that he wrote the song with his uncles in mind (who are featured on the cover), any support is a good thing in my book. it's not like he's complaining about not being eligible for the lambda award or anything like that. he's saying people have to change and cast aside their differences even though he's not a member of the oppressed group.

(Anonymous) 2013-09-12 01:22 am (UTC)(link)yes, wut and thrift shop sound way too alike. it's definitely arguable that thrift shop ripped its rhythm from wut. but same love's rhythm wasn't stolen from anything.
