Assuming that you play a less-badass or differently-badass character, why don't you put them in a position where they'll be a part of the situation but forced to figure out a less conventional way to deal with it? It's not like the monsters are limited in number and need to be NPC'd. As long as you can put your character anywhere you want, you can probably find a way to involve them. The fact that characters with big guns exist doesn't mean that everyone else is safe.

I mean, the first part is obviously meant to be facetious (if accurate), and they're not the only one who is getting really sick of all the hate being piled on Amanda - not just her Eridan, but Amanda herself.

Hhaha, yeah. Like, even when Tavros and Kanaya died, and you had the corpsesmooch combo-- something that could easily be perceived as an incredibly depressing moment in canon, it was executed in a humorous light. Because of that, I think that when given the choice between playing something as traumatic or humorous, I think you should lean towards humor, since that's more like canon? But that's my personal preference and thought processes.

also spoiler, i played in hetalia before homestuck, which had the same canon philosophy, except with waaaaay more sensitivity (since wow history can be incredibly fucked up).

To both you and the anon above: actually, my character is one of the usual badasses who doesn't even break a sweat dealing with monsters. That's one of the reasons I'm bored of generic monster attack plots. If there was something else happening while the monster attacks are going on, like a mindfuck or everyone's weapons disappearing temporarily or just generally anything that hinders badassery, I think that would be much more interesting.

And how do you know it won't? All you know so far is what's on the calendar, they never give the full thing on the calendar.
