It's cool to see some of the scenes animated although so far it's...disappointingly low-budget, I guess. I was kind of expecting that, and it certainly wasn't the worst quality anime I've seen, but I doubt it'll bring in many new fans.

yeah and the lack of an actual op is pretty telling

still, i really liked how they animated monobear (especially that weird thing they did during the first execution scene right at the start)

They'll probably have an OP next episode, anon. It's not uncommon for anime to start the first episode without one.

They had an OP this time already, though. It's the part with the Dangan Ronpa series theme song. They just didn't play it until the same point it plays at in-game, which I actually thought was a nice touch for the first episode.

it looks like most of their budget is going to go into executions and maybe trials. judging by the space journey recreation.

I don't find it that bad looking to be honest. But I may be just ridiculously excited and not noticing it. And I think it does have the potential to bring in more people, especially people who don't want to deal with SA's paywall or experiencing it via forum posts. An anime is easier to do in some ways for some.
