I've been having trouble getting some close CR too, but I think that I'm making a little headway... :')

You may just have to be more aggressive than you're used to about approaching people with plot -- even if it's as little as a "hey, I think our characters' personalities might click!" on the CR meme that just went up. Most people seem really receptive to that sort of stuff and will usually thread with you at least once. After that it's important that you follow up and ask to continue threading and/or continue to tag them in their posts; hopefully after a little bit of that you won't have to keep asking people to post to you.

And you totally don't need to have close CR before you try and get involved in people's plots! Use that as an excuse to get close CR with them.

Just throw yourself out there! And hey, if you'd rather start small, I'll totally unanon or something and offer up my character to play with yours. :)

Offering up the same. I have a character who could use more CR, and I'd gladly CR with any of you.

I am having a bit of trouble with this too, but I found that when I throw myself out there on the CR meme and just tag around on posts, it gets a bit easier each time. Not every thread clicks, but I'm building CR with a LCW right now who I was sure I would have a terrible time with getting people interested in.

A good idea is maybe take a look at some of the ads that haven't gotten many responses? You can get surprisingly creative and unique CR by branch out that way.

No need to unanon, I don't want to reveal myself because one of my problems is that I'm kind of shy anyways. I'm one of the people whose CR meme ad didn't get many responses, so I kind of got nervous that people weren't really interested in getting CR with me. But my ad just might not have had enough hooks in it or my character might be too obscure, so I'll try tagging around on it later.

Do you find that people are okay with characters that don't have CR with anyone involved joining in plots? A lot of plots I notice seem to involve groups of characters that all have close CR with one another, I'd feel intrusive shoving my character in.

Fair enough! And yeah, mine didn't get many responses either, but I'm having more luck going to people instead.

I can't speak for everyone, but I know I wouldn't mind it in the slightest. There'll always be the people out there who only make plots "open to all" so that they don't look like a jerk who doesn't want anyone else in their clubhouse, but I find that those are the exception rather than the rule.

If you're looking for plots to get in on, you might hit up Iorveth's thing with the whole Malicant investigation? That's game-relevant information for everyone, new or old, and yours might be able to find a place there. Or it might not be to late to get in on Hulk-Bruce's hydroponics garden project. I think the player mentioned something about a log for the volunteers to meet each other, so that'd be easy CR right there.

Both of them seem really open to plotting, so it might be worth a shot!
