Happy Birthday

Rundown: [community profile] rpanons is an anonymous community for role-play related topics. This place serves as a forum for game discussions, canon discussions, RP solicitations (ATP, game ads, open memes), and advice. The occasional off topic comment is inevitable, but please keep heated social and political topics to their respective communities. Posting them here will only get them frozen. Subsequent threads made to bypass a freeze will then be deleted.

Rules:

Do not post pornographic or shocking images.
Do not share private entries, plurks, chat logs, etc.
Do not use this community as your social/political/hatespeech soapbox.
Do not be redundant. One page does not need three or more threads on one topic/theme.
Do not treat this comm like your personal Plurk or Twitter. Off-topic happens, but it should be open for discussion and not just a play-by-play of your life. No one cares.

One of the most important things to remember is that Shepard is not an OC. She is a malleable protagonist to a point, yes, but even within that malleability there are very clear lines of personality and the things that drive her.

A Renegade Shepard still has a measure of restraint, despite the fact that yes, she is quicker to kill than a Paragon Shepard. She isn't the cut-loose cuss-all-around shoot-everything-fuck-consequences person that some people play her to be. She is aware of the consequences of her actions, and she will ultimately deal with that when she needs to. She is still a soldier of the Alliance Military, and playing her like she thinks she can do anything she wants is basically turning her into the characters she tries to stop.

on the flip side, Paragon Shepards aren't completely soft. She might be more aware of consequences and the immediate ramifications, but there are also several paragon paths that have her take a very "Renegade" tone. She is, again, an Alliance Soldier, and a damn good one. This means she will kill you if she needs to.

At the first Citadel hearing in ME1, no matter what choices you make, Shephard loudly supports Captain Anderson. Like above anon said, Shepard is somewhat malleable with a number of consistent traits. The Renegade/Paragon choices are differences in her/his approach.
